General Hospital Spoilers: GH Alum Sean Blakemore Books Another Primetime Gig

General Hospital alum, Sean Blakemore is adding another primetime gig to his list of acting credits. He is slated to guest star on an upcoming episode of CBS’ MacGyver.

The upcoming episode is called Loyalty + Family + Rogue + Hellfire and is slated to air on Friday, May 1, 2020, on CBS. The episode is written by Jim Adler and directed by Geoff Shotz. In this episode, Jeri Ryan makes a return to the role of MacGyver’s aunt, Gwen.

The Phoenix team will be divided when MacGyver’s aunt gets into his head about family and their connection and convinces him and Riley to join Codex. Also, Matty and Russ will take their concerns about Codex to the While House when the episode airs on May 1 on CBS at 8/9 PM ET/PT.

The regular cast includes Lucas Till as Angnus “Mac” MacGyver, Tristin Mays as Riley Davis, Justin Hires as Wilt Bozer, Meredith Eaton as Matty Weber, Levy Tran as Desi Nguyen and Henry Ian Cusick as Russ Taylor. The guest cast list includes Ryan as Gwendolyn Hayes, Blakemore as Danny Linton, Monica Garcia Bradley as a waitress, Mary Elizabeth Kirkpatrick as Ella, John Paul Steele as Drone Pilot, Martinez as Dr. Lee, Amber Skye Noyes as Scarlett and Zach McGowan as Roman.

Sean Blakemore, an extremely talented actor has been in the soap world for a number of years. Unfortunately, his talent for General Hospital is no more as his character was sent to prison and exited the show a couple of years ago. Blakemore briefly played a character on GH called Chase Wright in 2003. He returned to the show now playing a new role, Shawn Butler in 2011. He remained with the show until 2016.

Since leaving the ABC daytime soap opera, Blakemore has kept himself busy with new gigs added to his resume. He has been playing the role of Phil on OWN’s Greenleaf since 2018. He has done series such as; American Horror Story, Devious Maids, 13 Reasons Why, American Crime, Hawaii Five-0, The Quad, Scorpion, Saints & Sinners, and Lethal Weapon. Blakemore joined the hit Emmy award-winning web series called The Bay which is helmed by a number of soap stars and also stars a large number of soap stars. He played the role of Tony Foster in 2019.

There’s no word yet if he will return to soaps or when but we are looking forward to his MacGyver guest appearance in May.
