General Hospital Spoilers: Gruesome Discovery, Dex’s Pine Barrens Assignment?

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) will soon make a gruesome discovery, and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will give him a new assignment. Dex will find out firsthand what it means when Sonny talks about disposing of a problem in the Pine Barrens!

General Hospital Spoilers: Whose Body Does Dex Heller Find?

Viewers will remember Dex was the one who found the body of former Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby (Heather Mazur) after Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) killed her.

During the week of July 24 Dex will find another body, although this may be more gruesome-although Heather Webber (Alley Mills) is set to return, it’s doubtful she’ll be the killer. She’ll be too busy trying to reconnect with her daughter and grandson, that is, if the scenes aren’t shown with her in D’Archam.

However, there are some hints as to who the victim might be and also who may have taken action against them. Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Gray) is a pretty good candidate considering he’s been giving Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) a good deal of trouble.

GH Spoilers: Ava Jerome Will Say, Enough!

Mason has been blackmailing both Austin and Ava over his “taking care of” the Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) situation for them, but soon, Ava will say, enough! He too, saw Ava hit Nikolas in the head with a gargoyle statue and presumably, it was a fatal hit.

However, Mason had come in and found Nikolas unconscious in the tack closet in the stable and moved him to a location where he was on life support. But neither Ava nor Austin seem to have nary a clue that Nikolas is-or, maybe was, alive-although Mason had gone out of town and returned.

Nikolas may have been moved, but Mason is still using him for blackmail and wants Ava to get intel on the Pikeman group from Sonny, and Ava may take him out.

If Ava takes Mason out, having had enough of his blackmail mess she may just confess the whole thing to Sonny-on the other hand, Sonny will walk in on an argument.

It sounds like he could walk in on Austin and Ava arguing, and it might be over Ava taking out Mason-he’s been a problem, but Mason’s not the top guy. The one who comes looking for him will be worse, and Sonny may feel he needs to intervene.

Sonny and Ava do share a daughter, after all, and if he finds out about Mason’s blackmail and the whole Nikolas mess he’ll likely cover it up. He’ll send Dex to dispose of the body in the Pine Barrens, whether it turns out to be Mason or someone else.
