General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) has shared with fans that she recently had brain surgery. As you might imagine, she’ll need a bit of recuperative time and her character has accordingly left Port Charles, New York.

Maxie told family and friends that she’s getting away from the drama of her PC life for about three weeks. Soap time and real life time differ greatly however. Thankfully Kirsten has been keeping fans updated about her progress. The excellent news is that she is healing nicely and there are no complications.

Kirsten recently shared some pics that show her head and how it is healing. There are stitches which look to be doing well and weeks ago she posted info about the surgery itself.

GH Spoilers – Will Kirsten Storms Take An Extended Leave?

Maxie must leave Port Charles because there are too many memories in town. Namely, her daughter Louise is there but not with her. In order to keep the baby safe, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) is pretending to be the baby’s mom.

At the same time poor Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been led to believe he is the father, a big fat lie as BLQ was never even pregnant after their one night stand! But some people are getting suspicious about Maxie’s behavior and in the end both women think it is best that Maxie puts distance between herself and this devious situation.

So Maxie is off to Texas to visit her family and in the meantime the absence onscreen will give the actress time to recuperate.

General Hospital Spoilers – Kirsten Storms Has A Real Life Health Crisis

In the meantime Kirsten Storms is keeping fans updated about the brain surgery needed to remove a cyst that was causing neck pain, migraines, and other symptoms. An MRI showed a large cyst attached to the lower part of her brain which was scary for her no doubt. The operation was a success and now we know why Maxie really had to hot foot it out of town.
