While she was on the run with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in 2021, Britt finally got up the courage to seek out the truth about her genetics. As if having Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) for a father wasn’t bad enough, Britt had worried long enough that she might carry the markers for Huntington’s Disease like her dad did. Armed with Jason’s support in a hospital far outside of Port Charles and under an assumed name, Britt learns the results of her genetics testing that she hoped she’d never hear: she was a carrier for Huntington’s.

She kept this truth between herself and Jason for the longest time, but eventually her mom, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) was looped in, too. For now, that’s the only other person who knows about Britt’s impending genetic doom. Recent discussions with Cody have sparked some debate between the two, such as when Cody pretended he was into having children and Britt called him out for assuming that would help him score points with her — noting some women don’t plan to have children. Fans felt the sting of the loss of a potential family life for Britt at that moment.

The sparks that are flying between Britt and Cody will soon look a lot more like what we miss between her and Jason. But as Britt gives in to love again and lets herself fall, she will also find herself falling ill, and symptoms of Huntington’s will arise. Will she open up to Cody like she did to Jason, or might she cut ties and cut her losses prematurely?
