General Hospital Spoilers: Is GH Alum Matt Cohen Reprising His Role In The Supernatural Spin-Off?

General Hospital spoilers suggest that former start Matt Cohen, who played Dr. Griffin Monroe could reprise his role as John Winchester in the Supernatural spin-off, The Winchesters. What does Cohen have to say as he speaks out about this possibility?

General Hospital Spoilers – The Supernatural Prequel

On June 24th, Deadline broke the news that Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles (former Eric Brady, DOOL) along with his wife, Danneel Ackles (Shannon McBain, OLTL) had teamed up with The CW for a possible series called The Winchesters. This series plans to focus on a younger version of Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester’s (Jensen Ackles) parents. John Winchester’s younger version was played by Matt Cohen on the Supernatural series and fans had assumed he may reprise the role. Unfortunately, on June 25th, Cohen crushed fan’s hopes by announcing that he wasn’t involved in the project at all. Cohen admits that there is a long way to go with the development of the show. However, Cohen is excited for fans to learn more about the Winchester’s story.

GH Spoilers – A Great Deal Of Drama

It seems that the long-time Supernatural duo Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles had a very public falling out but have since worked out their differences. Jared called out Jensen for not telling him about the plans for this new series, however, hours later the two had made up and were asking fans to stop the hate threats. Padalecki later tweeted, “The show is early in the process with miles to go. We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps. Bumps don’t stop us. Once brothers, always brothers.” To which Ackles replied, “Love you @jarpad. Miss these talks. I forgot how much face time we always used to get. And I miss that too. I know you’re busy… as am I, but you’re still my brother. I miss you, pal.”

General Hospital Spoilers – Sam Winchester Is No Longer Involved

Supernatural’s Padalecki also voiced his disappointment that Sam Winchester was not involved at all in the new series. Of course, with the series just now coming to light, it is hard to say if Dean will be involved either. After all, if the show is about the younger parents, the children would probably be recast as well. After 15 seasons of the popular show, fans were very disappointed with the cancellation. However, fans have this new series to look forward to. Unfortunately, it seems that the actors will not be the familiar faces that fans had hoped to see. Perhaps The Winchester’s will give us more insight into the family that has kept us searching for the unknown for years.
