General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there is a good chance that Spencer Cassadine (formerly Nicholas Bechtel) could be recast. It seems that the teen scene in Port Charles is coming up a bit short and there are lots of reasons why a recast should happen. Keep reading to get the details and let us know what you think.
General Hospital Spoilers – The Teen Scene
GH spoilers reveal that the teen scene in Port Charles used to be a bit bigger. At one point, we had Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt). However, he passed away after fighting a brain tumor. So, Dev Cerci aka Dev Corbin (Ashton Arbab) took his spot. But then he ended up dying, which means we have now dwindled back to just three teens. Now we only have Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
GH Spoilers – The Romance Problem
With only three teens, it doesn’t give enough options for romance storylines. Trina ended up deciding that Cameron was just a friend, but that could change in the future. In any case, there aren’t a whole lot of options for romance with the teenagers. Unless they add some new faces, recast some characters that left, or if they find another way to expand the love storyline options.
General Hospital Spoilers – Cameron Webber Rumored Next To Go
General Hospital spoilers reveal that there is speculation that Cameron’s life will be “destroyed.” Some fans wonder if she could be so destroyed that he will end up going off the canvas, too. Or, he could get killed off during his attempt to protect his family. This means that the teen scene will be dropped down to just two. But we are getting ahead of ourselves.
GH Spoilers – Spencer Cassadine Recast?
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, there is a chance that Spencer could be recast. In fact, it’s more than a chance. Insiders are actually talking about this, so it seems like a real possibility. It is teased that the reason for the recast is to bring someone along who will “go better” with the other teenagers. Plus, we have the spoiler that Spencer will be on Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) mind. Plus, Nikolas and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will have an important conversation about Spencer. Things like that don’t happen in soaps “just because.” They are also put in place for a reason, so it sounds like a huge clue to expect Spencer to come back looking a bit different.

Mike Manning and Michael Trevino are too old to portray a teenage Spencer Cassadine, so I guess GH is gonna have to start auditioning for younger actors! I just hope they won't make Spencer into an even BIGGER PUNK like his uncle Stefan! But of course, his father Nikolas has proved to end up the same way! I guess it's not his fault that he came from such a long line of sore losers! Lol
I love the current Spencer. He’s perfect! Please don’t replace him.
He will never be replaced because no one could ever fill his shoes. That young man grew up right before our eyes as an outstanding actor we all fell in love with to watch. His smart personality always a little gentlemen I will always remember and cherish. I wish him a bright future in high school, in college and in his future career and a Hugh “thank you” for sharing your excellent acting and yourself on screen with all of us. You were the best in this role and we will never forget you and your gift of excellent acting on General Hospital. Go forward young man and we will always hope for updates on your successes. Sorry, I’ve never been a fan of his. Several times, I have tried to like his character. But just couldn’t.
I hope they do recast him.

Trying to recast Spencer would be as impossible as had they ever tried to recast the role of Robin.

You are absolutely right on, GH Fan. No one can perform like Spencer. That guy has got talent. Something that is hard to find.
He did grow up before our eyes I have watched general hospital for over 50 years I was 7 when it first aired. Many recasts Sometimes our actors go on to bigger and better things Some go from daytime to prime time shows (such as the actor who played Morgan) I loved Bryan Craig and watch whatever he is in and I didn't like him as the recast at first I wish Nicolas only the best of bigger and better things and will give his recast a chance Who knows, we may like who it is a lot!
I would like to see a teen Stefan What a juicy part for an actor to play One thing for sure, Spencer is not going to be an angel
