TV Insider gives us an exclusive sneak peek at Jason’s highly anticipated return! Burton was last seen on the soap on March 25, when Jason took the fall for shooting WSB director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to shield Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), who was the true culprit.

Following this dramatic turn of events, the WSB apprehended Jason, and he has been absent from the show ever since.

On February 10, Burton revealed his brief exit from the soap, saying, “Hey everyone, I’m taking a short break from General Hospital-I just got married and can’t wait to enjoy some family time. Thank you for your support; I’ll return this summer. Much love!”

Josslyn Made A Deal With Z To Free Jason And Valentin

Following Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) shocking act of shooting Cullum in the episode aired on July 2, she received a visit from Z (John Oliver), the chief of the WSB.

Z urged her to keep the details of Cullum’s shooting a secret. Josslyn agreed to Z’s narrative, on the condition that both Jason and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) would be freed from WSB detention; Z obliged. Burton returned to filming on June 1.

During the June 28 episode of his podcast, That’s Awesome, which he co-hosts with Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), Burton teased what fans can look forward to with Jason’s return to Port Charles.

Burton Talked About Taping His Comeback

“It’s been a whirlwind for sure,” he remarked about his comeback to the set; “There’s been a lot happening, a lot of great storylines. I’ve had some fantastic scenes. It feels good.”

He also hinted at upcoming changes for Jason; “We’re shifting directions a little bit, which is going to be intriguing for fans,” he disclosed.
