General Hospital Spoilers: Laura And Kevin Won’t Make It To Chechnya

General Hospital spoilers reveal Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) made his opinion very clear to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) last week. She can’t go to Chechnya. He was firm about it. Laura didn’t take kindly to Austin’s unsolicited advice – especially such guidance coming from a stranger she barely knows.

Madame Mayor was quick to put Austin in his place and walk away, leaving him wondering if he made the right move in talking to her at all. When he relayed his concerns to Ava Jerome (Maura West), it only fanned the flames of her already existing panic. With Laura and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) slated to make their trip soon, Ava and Austin might have to resort to pretty desperate measures to ensure they never make it to Russia.

General Hospital spoilers show Laura has never been keen on unsolicited advice, but she usually takes it in stride and has an equally kind but snarky comment to deliver in response. This time around, she was serious —- and sounded as though she was chastising her grandson, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). Instead, she was chastising a grown man – a doctor, at that – who was putting his foot in his mouth and inserting himself somewhere he didn’t belong. Laura doesn’t have time to bog herself down with worrying about why Austin has any interest in her travels right now, but she’s not going to forget about this when it becomes relevant later.

Laura has tied up every loose end. Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) is in place; her position as Mayor of Port Charles is secure and covered. Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Spencer are prepped for her departure. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) are on board to help her and Kevin. And she made sure to check in with her doctor before heading out of town. In other words, what’s left but to pack their bags and hit the airport? But is that the last place anyone will see Kevin and Laura?

Valentin and Anna will be stunned to find themselves in Russia, alone. They are supposed to meet Kevin and Laura and guide them into Chechnya — as covertly as possible — using their WSB expertise. Instead, they will be met by no one. Left wondering what happened to Kevin and Laura — and sending Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) on a wild goose chase back in Port Charles trying to figure it out — they’re going to make the best of their circumstances.

How could the Collins’ have never made it onto the plane? Something tells us Austin will know where they are every bit as much as he knows where Nikolas is. As panic ensues back home, Valentin and Anna will take it upon themselves to check in on the family property in Chechnya while they are there. This was the one part of Laura’s plan that Austin and Mason Gatlin didn’t know about – Valentin and Anna were going with them. As the shady cousins intervene to make sure Laura and Kevin never make it out of town, Vanna will be two steps ahead of them. Is this going to botch everything for Austin and Ava?
