Lucas Swore That Marco Rios’ Death Would Not Be In Vain
After the murder of Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo), a heartbroken Lucas swore that his death would not be in vain; Marco was killed for stealing two vials of Huntington’s Disease meds.
Lucas was the one who prodded Marco to obtain the vials, so that Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) medicine provided by Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) could be reverse-engineered.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was to have taken Britt out of the country for her safety, and Brick (Stephen A. Smith) was going to get them reverse-engineered, although Lucas discussed it too.
Creepy Pascal (Marc Forget) who had a crush on the unfortunately doomed Marco, reported to Cullum that two vials were missing, although he didn’t want Marco killed.

Then, after killing Marco and breaking the vials, intending to kill Britt as well, Cullum was shot in the back and is still in ICU at GH.
With Cullum Still In ICU And Sidwell Distracted By Grief, Lucas Sees An Opportunity
With Cullum still in ICU and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) distracted by grief and focused on blaming Sonny Corinthos, (Maurice Benard) for Marco’s murder, Lucas sees an opportunity.
That is why when Sidwell invited him to stay at Wyndemere, when he and Marco had planned to move out, even choosing their own place, Lucas agreed to stay.
Lucas knows that the medicine doses are likely not still in Sidwell’s safe, where Marco had taken them from-they’re probably in the secret lab.

Since Marco died attempting to be a hero, Lucas decides to play hero for Britt, fulfilling Marco’s mission to obtain the meds-no matter how he does it!
Lucas Promises Britt He Will Get Her Meds, But She Has To Tell Him Where The Lab Is And How To Get Into It
There is still the issue of Pascal snooping around, who likely is tasked again with giving Britt the meds, so a distraction will have to be planned to occupy him-and Sidwell too!
Evading Pascal proves to be a tougher proposition than Lucas originally thought, he’s still lurking around every corner and listening to every conversation.
Lucas and Britt decide to work together and set up a time to get her meds when Sidwell’s out, and Cassius Faison/Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) is occupied elsewhere.
That part is Britt’s idea and doesn’t mention it to Lucas, since he has no knowledge that Cassius is really Nathan’s unknown twin; and how does Lucas channel his inner Jerome? Britt creates a distraction and Lucas sneaks up on Pascal, and knocks out and ties him up!
