General Hospital Spoilers: Marcus Taggert Spirals – Who Will Help Him?

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) is about to spiral out of control. The detective is headed to a deep dark place. His daughter, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), is the joy of his life, but suddenly she is no longer his biological child.

That news would be hard for anyone to digest. His reaction when the results came in was gut-wrenching and the actor did an incredible job. Now that the news has sunk in, he feels that Trina is looking at him differently, and he will not handle that well.

General Hospital Spoilers – Marcus Taggert Is Drinking Heavily

It was bad enough that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) had an affair with Curtis, but she lied about her daughter’s paternity for years. When they learned this news, Trina and her dad promised each other that it would not change their relationship or the father-daughter bond they had.

Then Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) found Taggert stumbling around the Metro Court soon after he found out that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was really Trina’s bio dad.

The new Deputy Mayor was once Taggert’s partner and they are good friends. She helped him out and talked through his new reality with him.

Unfortunately, new dad Curtis was soon shot and came close to dying. This made Trina reevaluate her relationship with him and does not want to lose any more time. She has been constantly at the hospital waiting for Curtis to wake up.

When she gave up a few minutes to meet Taggert, she spoke about her feelings for both her old dad and her new one. The detective kept up a smile while she was with him, but began drinking again as soon as she left for the hospital. This pattern is sure to go on.

GH Spoilers – Who Will Be There For Marcus Taggert On General Hospital?

Taggert is alone. He and Portia split up years ago. Although they remained friends for Trina’s sake, Portia is too worried about her new husband Curtis to even notice what is going on with her ex.

The same goes for his daughter. She is gathered by Curtis’ bedside along with the rest of his family.

Jordan will be there for him when she can but she may also be preoccupied. She was just promoted to Deputy Mayor and may be starting a new romance with Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston).

It may be Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) who steps in to save Taggert from himself. Alexis has battled alcohol addiction and if she runs into the detective (perhaps at the Metro Court), she will notice what is going on.

The former attorney could be the perfect person to help Taggert through his troubles. Could we even hope for a romantic spark between the two?

This is General Hospital, after all. Why anyone would trust the lab there is a mystery. It would not be the first time a paternity test was tampered with.

The evil Selina Wu (Lydia Look) offered to make the results go Curtis’ way. He turned her down, but Selina does what she wants. She may have her own reasons for wanting the Savoy owner to be Trina’s dad.

It is possible that someone else entirely stuck their nose into that lab. But even if Marcus Taggert is the real father, it could take months, or even years, for the truth to come out.
