General Hospital Spoilers: Mike Corbin’s Condition Worsens, In Final Stages Of Alzheimer’s Disease

General Hospital spoilers tease in this week’s GH Sneak Peek that Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) condition worsens substantially as he enters one of the final stages of Alzheimer’s Disease that he has been suffering from for over a year.

GH Spoilers – Stella Henry Visits Mike Corbin At Turning Woods

At Turning Woods Memory Care facility, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) visits her patient Mike Corbin, whom she hasn’t seen in over six months due to her trip abroad with her newly discovered cousin Wanda. He is sitting at a table in the main visiting area of the facility, obviously very confused as he tries to assemble a jigsaw puzzle. He has both his shoes off and is attempting to put a puzzle piece in one of his shoes as Stella approaches him. She calls out his name, but there is no response; she tells him her name and asks how he is feeling and if he needs any help. There is no response as he keeps trying to figure out where the puzzle piece goes in his shoe.

General Hospital Spoilers – Carly And Sonny Corinthos Enter The Visiting Area

Carly and Sonny Corinthos (Laura Wright, Maurice Benard) enter the visiting area as Stella goes to meet them. Stella tells them good morning and Carly smiles and says “hi” while Sonny remarks that Stella is there bright and early. Carly asks Stella how Mike is doing. Stella has a very serious look on her face as she tells her that Mike is not having a good day. Sonny acknowledges that Mike has bad days and good days and that he has gotten used to Mike living in the past. Stella looks at Sonny and tells him that it is a lot worse than that.

GH Spoilers – Sonny and Carly Corinthos Approach Mike Corbin

Sonny and Carly approach Mike, and Sonny tries to get Mike’s attention, saying, “Dad, Dad – Dad! Look who I brought!” Mike looks around, confused, but finally looks at Carly. She smiles and says, “Hi Mike! Long-time no see!” Mike doesn’t respond at all but continues to look confused. Unfortunately, Mike isn’t even living in the past this time – and it’s difficult for Sonny and Carly to see if Mike is still “in there” at all!

General Hospital Spoilers – Viewers Should Have Tissues Nearby

General Hospital viewers should have tissues nearby this week, and lots of them, particularly those viewers who may have loved ones who have, or who are, suffering from the terrible effects of Alzheimer’s Disease. In Friday’s episode, Stella visited Mike and he was “living in the past” as Sonny put it, thinking he was a young man at the horse races, getting ready to marry Adelle, Sonny’s mother.

However, in the scene portrayed in this sneak peek promo, Mike has obviously deteriorated very quickly from what General Hospital viewers saw on Friday. He appears to barely know who he is, does not understand how to assemble a jigsaw puzzle, has taken off his shoes and tries to put puzzle pieces in one of them, and barely responds to Stella, Sonny, and Carly. He may be in the last stage and soon won’t even be able to dress and will decline even more soon.
