Once Sonny remembered his identity, his attitude toward Nina did a complete 180. It was painful for Nina and at the time, she was willing to do anything to keep her fantasy going. However, Watros explained to Soap Opera Digest that Sonny being so cold and unfeeling toward Nina was the best thing he could do for her.

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Sonny being so cold toward Nina helped get her head out of the clouds and face reality. The actress hinted that in hindsight, Nina is grateful for it because it forced her to get back into the real world.

“I think going back to Port Charles, she comes out of the clouds, and Sonny, by him being so unfeeling toward her, that is bringing her back to reality. She doesn’t necessarily want to be there, because it hurts, but I think that it’s healthier for her to be in that place.”

GH Spoilers – Courtroom Chaos
