General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that a mother’s love may turn tough in upcoming episodes of the ABC soap.
Might Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) use her daughter Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) crimes as a bargaining chip to be released by the WSB?
Key Takeaways
- Nina remains in WSB custody despite being transferred closer to Port Charles
- William Baines admits investigators may have rushed to judgment
- Drew framed Nina by planting Brennan’s wallet in her car
- Willow’s connection to the paralytic drug puts her under suspicion
- Nina may have to expose her daughter’s secrets to secure her freedom
Nina Was Transferred From Steinmauer To A WSB Holding Site Near Port Charles
Nina recently found herself transferred from Steinmauer, which is in Switzerland, to a WSB holding site near Port Charles. It seemed suspiciously to be in the basement of the WSB field office.
Acting WSB Station Chief William Baines (Alimi Ballard) had explained to Nina that they had made a rush to judgment.
He wasn’t releasing her just yet because she was still a suspect in Jack Brennan’s (Chris L. McKenna) disappearance, but not the only one.
Nina, of course, had been framed. General Hospital fans know that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) broke into her car and put Brennan’s wallet in it after taking it from his body.
It appeared that he had allowed the wallet to dry out first before placing it there, because Brennan had been a floater in the Metro Court pool, and he and Ava Jerome (Maura West) buried the body.
Meanwhile, Drew’s suspicious offer to Willow raises more questions about what he may be planning.
What Do I Have To Do?
As a disheveled and obviously exhausted Nina sat handcuffed across from Baines, she was sick and tired of him not understanding that she’d been framed, and she stood up and shouted at him!
“What do I have to do to prove to you I’m innocent?”
And that was the last thing in that particular scene.
In the meantime, the WSB and Baines have their eye on at least one other suspect, and maybe more, after taking note of the viral exposé written by Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening)!
And in the Port Charles Police Department, Baines’ taciturn warning to stay out of the case is being roundly ignored.
Soon, the mystery of Brennan’s disappearance will be solved, turning it into a potential murder case.
But with no obvious wounds, other than those possibly caused by Outback and other animals digging around, and Outback playing fetch with a finger, only an autopsy can determine the cause of death.
Willow Is Already On The WSB’s Radar For Brennan’s Disappearance
Willow is already on the WSB’s radar, along with a few others, for Brennan’s disappearance because of Lulu’s exposé tying together Brennan and Drew both having “strokes” and becoming “locked in.”
Both “strokes” happened in Drew’s house, with the common denominator being Willow, although the official WSB story is that they have no such weapon as the paralytic drug.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) knew they did, and Willow was getting it from Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota), who was getting it from Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
When he died, so did the supply chain.
As Valentin’s knowledge of the paralytic drug becomes increasingly important, Nina may find herself facing some difficult decisions.
Nina may be forced to reveal that she was giving Drew his “medication” for Willow and accidentally dosed Brennan, which gave him the “stroke” and left him “locked in,” proving the connection.
Whether she’ll throw Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) under the bus or Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) remains to be seen.
But she may well add her daughter to the suspect pool to bargain her way out of captivity!
After all, Nina’s potential WSB deal could force her to make an impossible choice between protecting Willow and saving herself.
Annemarie’s Take
Nina has spent so much time protecting Willow that it’s hard to imagine her deliberately turning against her daughter. But Nina is desperate, and Willow’s secrets could be the only leverage she has left. Would Nina really sacrifice Willow’s freedom to save her own, or will she find someone else to blame?
