General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal that Selina Wu (Lydia Look) and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) are back in Port Charles.
They showed up after placing a bid on Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) old piers, and although they were outbid, Selina may not be there for legitimate business.
Could she be planning to take over Sonny’s former mob territory?
Key Takeaways
- Selina returns with Brad
- Sonny loses his piers
- Josslyn manipulates the auction
- Selina eyes Sonny’s territory
- Sonny warns Josslyn of danger
Selina Wanted To Make Sonny’s Old Piers “More Useful”
Sonny wanted his piers back to legitimately expand his coffee company, Corinthos Coffee, but Selina told him afterward that she wanted to make his piers “more useful.”
As it turned out, everyone competing was defeated by Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), who convinced Hudson Parker (Troy Lennon Appel) to leverage JJE’s funds to purchase Sonny’s former piers.
Josslyn broke into the secure server area in a utility closet and disabled the security system so Hudson could access the private bidding database and submit the highest bid.
As Monday’s General Hospital recap revealed, Josslyn’s scheme worked, leaving Sonny and the other bidders stunned.
The purchase wasn’t exactly legitimate, considering how Josslyn and Hudson gained access to the bidding information.
Presumably, Josslyn restored the system before walking into the room full of bidders at the Metro Court and announcing that she was behind the winning bid.
That may have helped cover their tracks, although where they found that much money in a financially troubled company remains a mystery!
Selina Didn’t Return Just To Make Amends With Sonny
Granted, Selina left town after Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) framed her for setting fire to Charlie’s Pub while Sonny’s daughter, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), was inside.
Ironically, it was Sidwell’s son, Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo), who risked his own life by running into the burning building and saving Kristina.
Selina did make amends with Sonny before the bidding results were announced, since she and Brad were among the first to enter the room after Sonny and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst).
However, Selina’s interest in making Sonny’s old piers “more useful” raises questions about her true intentions.
Could she be planning to take over his former mob territory?
Selina knows Sonny claims to have left organized crime behind, so the news has clearly spread.
If she sees an opportunity to expand her own operation, she may not be willing to walk away simply because Josslyn won the auction.
Josslyn And Sonny Become Targets As Sonny Issues A Warning
Fall previews tease that Josslyn and Sonny will both become targets following the bidding war, and Sonny will issue Josslyn a warning.
Knowing that Selina may want his former territory, Sonny realizes other dangerous players could be interested as well.
He warns Josslyn that she’s asking for trouble she doesn’t want!
Josslyn could be inviting mob attacks on herself and Jasper Jacks Enterprises, especially since she’s running the company from Port Charles.
As previously discussed, Josslyn’s plan to use JJE against Sonny could put her father’s business at risk.
Her intention was to hit Sonny where it hurts financially, starting with his old piers.
However, she may be inviting another mob war into Port Charles, and that’s a world she might not be equipped to handle, WSB training or not!
In fact, Celeb Dirty Laundry has also explored Sonny’s fierce response to Josslyn’s dangerous revenge scheme.
Could Josslyn’s victory turn into a nightmare for everyone involved?
Annemarie’s Take
I think Josslyn is making a huge mistake. She may hate Sonny, but she’s allowing that hatred to cloud her judgment.
Selina Wu is no amateur, and if she’s interested in Sonny’s old territory, I doubt she’ll simply walk away because Josslyn outbid her.
And let’s not forget that Sonny knows this world better than anyone. Josslyn might believe she’s in control, but I suspect she’s about to learn a very painful lesson.
Personally, I think Sonny’s warning is one she should take seriously before someone gets hurt!
