General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Orders Cyrus Murder – Will Jason Morgan go Through With It?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that if criminal mastermind, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) walks out of Pentonville prison in short order, he may have a bullet waiting for him. GH fans know that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) just sent out Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), his enforcer, to deal with Cyrus right away.

As GH viewers who have been watching a while know, Cyrus Renault has been locked up in Pentonville Prison. For a time, the mayor of Port Charles, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) was able to get Cyrus transferred to solitary confinement. Laura’s thinking was that from solitary, Cyrus would be unable to continue carrying out all of the horrible atrocities he’d been ordering until then. However, GH fans know that Laura’s plan didn’t work. It was obvious that Cyrus had someone working for him on the inside of Pentonville since the drug kingpin was still able to issue orders to his organization.

Knowing that her plan wasn’t working even with Cyrus in solitary confinement, Laura then recruited her husband, Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) to conduct an illicit psychiatric evaluation of the drug dealer. The idea was to misinterpret the results of Cyrus’s psychiatric evaluation enough to have him transferred and held at a mental health hospital for further evaluation. In Laura’s thinking, that evaluation could last indefinitely. However, as GH viewers now know, that plan too was busted.

In the end, the Justice Department determined that the evidence police commissioner, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) presented showed that Cyrus had been framed. Understanding this, the warden of Pentonville Prison drew up the papers for Cyrus’s release. At that point, there was nothing that Laura, Kevin, or anyone else could do about it!

GH Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos Freaks Out

Of course, Cyrus’s arch-nemesis in Port Charles is Sonny Corinthos. That’s because Cyrus not only moved in on Sonny’s territory with his criminal enterprise, but he put hits out on Sonny’s family. In fact, Cyrus had two teams work to have Sonny’s family and business associates murdered. These attempts endangered the lives of Sonny’s wife, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), and more. Cyrus Renault’s goons shot Laura Spencer in the stomach during the same event and she nearly died!

That’s why when Sonny found out that Cyrus was about to be released, he came into his house looking distraught. In fact, Sonny looked distinctly nervous. While Sonny assured Carly that he would be able to take care of the threat, he still brought up the idea of waiting to kill Cyrus in order to find more weaknesses. If that happened, Sonny thought it might be wise to move his entire family out of Port Charles.

Considering Cyrus’s vindictive nature, some GH fans may agree that a choice to move Sonny’s family out of Port Charles might indeed be wise. Before that choice, however, Sonny sent Jason out. If he and Jason could get rid of Cyrus now, the threat would be gone and life might just return to normal!

While everyone knows that Jason is a trained hitman, killing Cyrus Renault may not be so easy. First, Cyrus isn’t stupid. Cyrus knows that Sonny and others might be waiting to kill him as soon as he sets foot outside of Pentonville. Mightn’t Cyrus have a ride immediately waiting for him? Could Cyrus decide to leave out the back?

What if Cyrus has safe houses already set-up and scattered around Port Charles, of which Sonny and Jason know nothing?

The truth is, Jason has a very small window of time in which to carry out the murder of Cyrus Renault. While Jason is a professional, Cyrus is a master chess player. When it comes to strategy and tactics, there is almost no one in Port Charles who is his equal at this point.

GH viewers may wish that Jason will find a clear shot. However, betting against Cyrus at this point might not be the smartest thing fans can do!
