As a mobster, he’s had to face some difficult decisions and make some tough calls. But when it comes down to it, his love for his family has always won. Unfortunately, not everyone sees it that way. When Sonny and Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) marriage blew up and Sonny found his way into Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) arms, he thought everyone would accept them as a couple when the dust settled.

That didn’t happen. His son has turned against him. His relationship with Carly is divided and feels like anything but family. Now, when push comes to shove and Carly needs help, Sonny’s loyalty is going to be tested — but family is going to win, again. Bye, Nina!

The Port Charles community was rocked to its core when news of Sonny’s presumed death spread like wildfire. Carly and his children were left to pick up the pieces of his empire that he left behind, having gone out the way anyone would have ever guessed he would. When he came back from the alleged grave, having been robbed of nearly a year of his life by Nina, the last thing anyone would have expected was for him to fall in love with her and want to share any part of his family with her. Just because Sonny developed an attachment to Nina while he was away doesn’t mean anyone else felt that way.

As we eagerly awaited Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) much-awaited nuptials, we couldn’t help but wonder about Nina’s fate in this family feud. However, with Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) keen observations, it seemed like Nina may no longer be a factor in this family for much longer. Dante’s enlightening conversation with Sonny would have been quite a blow to Nina’s ego if she were a fly on the wall. While Nina played it off as though she understood Sonny attending the wedding even though she wasn’t invited, the truth is it tore her up inside and it was likely a part of the reason she was so driven to report Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to the SEC in that unsupervised moment when Sonny was off enjoying his family.

General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny Corinthos Seals Nina Reeves’s Fate

Nina and Carly’s feud continues to rage on as Nina blames Carly for robbing her of a relationship with both of her daughters — Willow, and Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier). While Carly might currently be considering offering Nina an olive branch in what looks like the final days of Willow’s life, that will come to a screeching halt when she learns it was Nina who turned her and Drew into the SEC. But if Nina thinks she needs to watch her back because of Carly, she couldn’t be more wrong. It is Sonny who will make sure Nina knows just how done she is.
