General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton Addresses Jason’s Decision To Protect Carly

General Hospital spoilers tease that Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) absence from Port Charles for the last two years has been addressed. As viewers know, Jason was apprehended by the FBI and taken to Quantico.

While there, John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) offered Jason a deal. Jason was to either work for FBI as an informant, or Cates would have Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) arrested and sent to prison for 20 years. As of this writing, Carly still has no idea the sacrifice Jason made for her.

General Hospital Spoilers – Steve Burton Has Some Insight!

There have been complaints that Jason sacrificed everything for Carly, including time with his two sons, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Jake Webber (Hudson West). But Burton didn’t agree with the complaints.

During a recent episode of the Daily Drama podcast with Bradford Anderson, the two discussed the matter.

Burton had some opinions and urged fans to look at the situation from a different perspective. Burton acknowledged that fans know Jason’s character and usual behavior.

GH Spoilers – Jason Morgan Would Have Protected Others The Same Way.

Although Jason chose to protect Carly in this situation, Burton suggested that he would have done the same thing for the mothers of his two sons, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) or even Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard).

He said that Jake and Danny would need their mothers more than him because they have been with their boys since they were born and Jason has been in and out of their lives the last few years. Even by protecting Carly, he knew his sons would be well taken care of.

General Hospital Spoilers – Jason Morgan Lives A Dangerous Life!

Jason’s actions make sense in that way because if Carly had been sent to prison for 20 years, she wouldn’t have been there for her own young daughter for the rest of her childhood.

If Jason could keep that from happening by working with FBI for a couple years, then it makes sense he would make that sacrifice.

Carly will eventually learn what Jason did for her and although she will be upset, she will likely also be grateful that Jason made such a noble sacrifice for her.

GH Spoilers – What Do You Think?

Do you agree that Jason did the right thing by protecting Carly? Or should he have let her go to prison? How will she react when she learns the sacrifice Jason made for her?
