General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton Says “Some Doors Shut” Regarding GH Return

General Hospital spoilers reveal that Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan) has told Deadline that he won’t be returning as Jason. Burton says “some doors shut.” Burton discussed his time at General Hospital and how much he is looking forward to Days Of Our Lives; Beyond Salem 2.

General Hospital Spoilers: Moving On From ABC

General Hospital’s Burton says that he doesn’t harbor any hard feelings for ABC executives. However, Burton says, he is grateful for his time at General Hospital. Burton says he grew up at GH and they were his family for a long time. Burton has always admitted that he would go back to GH if asked but it seems that he has realized he has to move on with his life and his career. Burton says “some doors shut and some doors open and here was are in Beyond Salem.” Could Days writers make a permanent spot in the original show for Burton’s character, Harris Michaels?

General Hospital: Is Burton Truly Down With GH?

Does General Hospital’s Burton’s talk about doors closing mean that he is completely done with General hospital? Burton was fired because ABC executives refused to accept his religious exemption request for the Covid vaccine mandate. Burton refused to comply with this order knowing full well that he could and would get fired without the exemption being accepted. However, Burton still stands by his decision today. Burton is thrilled about Beyond Salem 2 and Burton has gushed about his co-stars from the start. Harris Michaels may not be a completely new character but he did not have a huge history with the show so it was like a new character coming in.

GH Spoilers: Burton Originated Michaels In 1988

General Hospital’s Burton’s first role in Daytime was Harris Michaels. Burton was supposed to be on the show for a few episodes but ended up staying longer than he originally thought. Michaels was a classmate of Eve Donovan (then Charlotte Ross). Of course, Michaels took a bet to see if he could get Eve, who was a prostitute, to sleep with him. Unfortunately, Michaels fell in love with Eve but she could never forgive him for his lies and deceit. Perhaps a reunion with Michaels could help Eve to put her life in perspective after all this time. Could Michaels come to Salem and be in the original series again?

With Steve no longer being on General Hospital, Days writers could try to work out a deal to keep Michaels on the show. Would Steve be willing to work with Days on a contract?
