ABC General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight), Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) Wiley (excuse the pun) attorney might be about to lay the smackdown on Michael Corinthos’s (Chad Duell) lawyer, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy). That’s because GH viewers have watched as Diane has made one legal blunder after another, giving Michael and his family absolutely horrendous advice. In stark contrast, Martin has been shrewder than shrewd. Corinthos family, beware.
GH Spoilers – Is Diane Miller Really That Bad?
Yes. Categorically, Diane is an objectively awful lawyer. As everyone knows by now, for literally months Diane has postured, pursed her lips, and condescendingly explained to Michael that if he has any hope at all of beating Nelle in court then he must find someone to marry. Moreover, Michael has to do it fast! Michael has to find the first available lily-white vestal virgin in order to create a holy image that no one could tarnish or dispute! (Never mind how horrific Nelle’s image is, objectively.)
No! Never mind the welfare of Wiley Cooper-Jones (Erik and Theo Olson)! Never mind the fact that Wiley was living with Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) for the majority of his little life. Never mind that Wiley looked at Lucas as his father. Hasn’t Wiley’s living situation only recently been moved over to Michael’s house? (And where was the legal paperwork transferring Wiley from Lucas’s care to Michael’s?) Never mind! Shut up! Sit down! Be silent!
Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). Willow Tait is the answer to all Michael’s legal woes. Diane is pathetic.
General Hospital Spoilers – Martin Gray is a Shark Gone to Battle
In vast contrast to Diane, Martin Gray is a winner and his legal advice comes out sounding like someone who knows what he’s talking about. Martin at least sounds nominally competent. Both are lawyers in New York State, and both ought to know how family law works, but it is Martin who gets to the nitty-gritty and raises issues that actually matter.
Recall, for a moment, that Martin won the case for Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) when the latter thought that he was Chief Petty Officer Andrew Cain (Billy Miller). Martin handled Franco’s case masterfully.
Martin’s legal skills have also been put to questionable use, however, it shows the level of expertise he has that he’s been successful time and again. GH viewers may recall that underneath the surface of a good lawyer, Martin is also one of Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) hidden assets. It has been Martin all along who has manipulated, schemed, and arranged things in order for Valentin to snap up shares of the Quartermaine family business as well as properties all across Port Charles!

General Hospital Updates – Martin Gray and Diane Miller at War
GH fans may have heard it said that evil usually wins unless good is very very good. The truth is, Diane is the good guy here, but she is a terrible lawyer. All things considered, when it comes to going head to head during Wiley’s custody hearing, Martin is likely to wipe the floor with Diane unless she actually has some kind of backup plan, some ace up her sleeve.
Viewers ought to remember though that for every ace Diane might hold, Martin is professional and well-prepared. Anyone who thinks Martin won’t have his own backup plan is fooling themselves. It might pay to remember that Martin once complained to Valentin that he was a lawyer, not a criminal.
Valentin smugly replied the two are one and the same. GH viewers can bank on it that when push comes to shove, Martin just may not play fair.

Diane was a great lawyer till the writers started messing up in the last 2 years. She never lost a case. Also Alexis having problems. Does some writer have a problem with lawyers?
Diane
I HATE Martin He Is A Sleazy. Martin Need To Be Sent Back To Where He Came From.
I know right. I sit there and just shake my head. Makes it hard to watch it.
I think writers have problems with strong, independent women as a whole, not only lawyers. Most female characters on GH have been trashed in some way or another the last few years so much so that they are hardly recognizable any more. Hope this mind set disappears sooner than later and the ladies of GH can get back to their strong individual personalities.
If writers would allow Michael Knight to play a reasonable part, both he and Diane would be formidable attorneys. Don’t understand why GH hired Knight to give him such a crappy role. Knight has been around soaps for years and deserves better in my opinion. Plus, if the character were changed, he would be another available male for the female characters to fight over.
Diane was a warrior in she defence of her clients. There was no one who could hold a candle to her. Then suddenly she was never available, now she’s not worth her retainer. Why the old Diane would have chewed up and spit out Sam’s P.O….especially after sex in the back seat of the car. What with she and the man both being married…
