Clearly, Jordan wasn’t playing around when she told Curtis she was going to get on with her life. Maybe she didn’t consider the implications of her words at that time, and she certainly couldn’t have known that she would meet a new man just hours later. Jordan has definitely moved on — and in a very big way. Rumors are already swirling that the police commissioner could end up pregnant with Zeke’s baby. But it may not need to get that serious. They may not need any strings tying them together. The damage will be done when Curtis learns that Jordan made love to someone else. He thought he still had that hold on her.

It would be one thing if Jordan hooked up with a man that Curtis never had to know about. But having her budding relationship with Zeke thrown in his face is going to turn Curtis’ stomach. The three months he spent away from home after their wedding night were supposed to be a reprieve for him to collect his thoughts and figure out what he wanted with their marriage. Instead, he was mulling over what he wanted with the other marriage he left behind. Should Portia consider this a success, since he came home — and chose her? As she grows suspicious, Curtis will have to up his game if he doesn’t want his wife to unearth his deepest secret — that he still loves his ex.

What will make this even more complicated is how much Portia loves her husband. She is devoted to this marriage, and Curtis will feel increasingly guilty about how little he’s really invested in it. He thought he could accept that Jordan was going to part ways with him, and that he would have a real shot at making his marriage with Portia work. He does love the woman. He was planning to embrace this and make the best of it.

But seeing Jordan with another man and having to pretend he’s happy for them is going to cripple Curtis inside. As Portia continues to dote on him and tend to his every need — praying that he falls back in love with her the way he was before — Curtis will be busy falling for a woman he can no longer have.
