General Hospital Spoilers: Will a Special Election Force Drew Out Of Port Chuck Too Soon for Willow To Let Him Go?

General Hospital spoilers report Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) was stunned to learn on the heels of his successful campaign speech in Rice Plaza that the reason for Congressman Larry McConkey’s (Sam McMurray) absence was his untimely death that morning. While Drew knew the Congressman was on his way out, so to speak, he still thought there would be more time to learn from him and grow to be qualified enough to take over his position in Congress.

Now, he may be thrust into that position much sooner than he thought he would. But what will that mean for his ongoing relationship with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) that no one knows about?

General Hospital Spoilers — McConkey Is Out, Drew Cain Is In?

McConkey’s death may leave a lasting impression on Drew merely because he was really starting to look up to him as a mentor and somewhat of the father figure he never had. Drew also wasn’t planning on having to leave Aurora Media, his daughter, or anyone else in his life this soon.

General Hospital Spoilers: Will a Special Election Force Drew Out Of Port Chuck Too Soon for Willow To Let Him Go?

But it looks like a special election to fill McConkey’s seat will be imminent — and Drew is the candidate the late Congressman endorsed. So it makes sense that he would win on that merit — and then have two months to prove himself in office before officially being voted in.

GH Spoilers – Leak Willow Tait Can’t Let Go

Although Drew and Willow are purely living in the moment right now, neither of them are thinking too seriously about their time together having an expiration date on it. Just a couple of weeks ago, Willow was reeling with guilt about cheating on her husband, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).

She abruptly left the New Tomorrow Institute to go back to nursing in hopes that less face time with Drew would help her forget about him.

She was looking forward to him winning the election and moving to D.C. Now, she’s going to loathe every passing hour that inches him closer to his departure.

General Hospital Spoilers — Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Finding herself having to say goodbye to Drew months before she expected to, Willow will have to keep her feelings under wraps.

The last thing she needs is for Michael to suspect something is going on between his wife and his cousin. But thus far, she hasn’t done a very good job at keeping her emotions under the surface.

Michael may not know what is wrong, but he knows something is. That’s certain to fester upon Drew leaving. Will Willow find reasons to get away and see him? Will Drew come home on weekends and end up spending more time with Willow in secret than seeing his own daughter?

We’re dying to see how this works out — or doesn’t! Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers so you don’t miss it.

This brings at least a couple things up. Michael will definitely find out, bringing about not just the end of their marriage, but causing a rift in the family that likely to never heal. Also the upcoming departure (death) of Sam will put Drew in the same position as Jason. Single father raising a child on his own.
