All of Scorpio’s statements to the contrary, Peter seems to think Scorpio believes he’s guilty and is secretly attempting to prove it. Recently, Peter August and Robert Scorpio found themselves at the birthday party of little Violet Finn (Jophielle Love). While both Peter and Scorpio played nice whenever Violet and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) were around, the tension between the two was obvious. However, despite that tension, viewers saw Scorpio make what appeared to be a peacemaking gesture.

Like Finn before him, Scorpio essentially apologized to Peter for his “former” suspicions before he wandered off to help Violet enjoy her party. Peter watched him go with a deep frown on his face. It was clear to many viewers that Peter was noncommittal as to whether he believed the former spy or not.

Now, everyone knows that there is no love lost between Peter August and Robert Scorpio. As Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) noted during her conversation with Peter a bit later, two grown men ought to have the right to loathe one another. However, Anna also made sure to mention that this isn’t how the family behaves. GH fans could see the wheels turning in Peter’s mind as his mother made that simple statement.

GH Spoilers – Peter August’s Feeling Some Heat

GH viewers know that a mysterious someone has been helping Peter. That’s been made clear because Peter’s made phone calls to that individual a few times now. Most recently, fans saw Peter call this person after his discussion about Scorpio with Anna Devane. During that call, Peter suggested that it was time for Scorpio to experience a diversion.

It’s clear that Peter would not make any moves against Scorpio in any way, shape, or form if he believed the man wasn’t a threat. Of course, Scorpio has been doing his best to appear as non-threatening as possible. That’s because Scorpio has a theory that if Peter feels he is safe from suspicion, he’s slip up and say or do something that implicates him in the murders and attempted murders of which Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) is currently accused. GH fans know that after his mysterious call, it’s clear Peter isn’t easily lulled into a false sense of security.

General Hospital Spoilers – Peter August ’s Not Going to Kill Robert Scorpio

There have been some noises in the corners of GH fandom that some believe Peter may try to have Scorpio assassinated. However, fans really ought to think a bit deeper. For example, consider the fact that for a long time now, Peter has been trying to redeem himself. Peter’s been attempting to erase every aspect of his former life. Now, Peter has the makings of a new family with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and he’s got a good thing going with his role at The Invader. Do viewers think he will do anything to jeopardize his desire for a normal future?

Well, what is the diversion that Peter has planned for Scorpio then? How will Peter get the old law enforcement agent to lay off and stop snooping around? While some might believe it would simply be easier to get rid of Scorpio for good, the words of Anna Devane may haunt Peter. Scorpio is family. In this family, Peter doesn’t get to be the evil son of Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). If he’s truly reformed, then Peter has to find some other solution to the Scorpio problem.

The solution to Peter’s problem could be the introduction of a red herring. In other words, Peter will employ some massive misdirection and get Scorpio chasing shadows down some deep, dark rabbit hole. Meanwhile, Peter will be free to tie up any loose ends that may possibly incriminate him.

The bottom line here is that Peter’s a lot smarter than some GH fans give the man credit for.
