General Hospital – What Will 2020 Bring For Laura Collins?

General Hospital: Laura Collins (Genie Francis)

While we patiently wait for new episodes of General Hospital, we thought we would take a stab at what we think may happen with some of our favorite characters in the coming year. This is all just for fun, while we wait for new shows to finally air. So let’s look at Laura Collins (Genie Francis).

Laura Collins was shot!

The last time we say Laura Collins she was shot in the shootout at the pier. She had been discussing improving the waterfront with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). She will likely be fine, but this incident will likely only increase her motivation to make changes to the Waterfront in an effort to reduce the crime rate. Laura, as Mayor of Port Charles, will want to put an end to the crime rates in that section of town.

At odds with the mob

Taking such a hard stance against crime could easily put her at odds with long time friend Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) but Laura won’t be swayed. Look for her to make every attempt to eliminate organized crime in Port Charles. This stance could also put her life in danger from Sonny’s enemies. Regardless, Laura will lead the city through this difficult time even if it means ending her longtime friendship with Sonny.

Marriage

At least things are stable with Laura’s marriage. She and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) have had their share of trouble in the past, thanks to Kevin’s twin brother Ryan Chamberlain (also Jon Lindstrom). But the serial killer is in prison and should remain there, at least for the most part. Although there may be an escape in Ryan’s future, he will likely be focused on other potential victims. Laura’s marriage should remain stable and happy.

Nikolas

Laura has only recently learned that her son, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), is alive after letting everyone, including his family, think he was dead for three years. While Laura is glad her son is alive, she worries that his Cassadine side is becoming his dominant side. This struggle will likely go on for a while, but eventually, Laura will see signs of the Nikolas she knows and loves, and they should reconcile before the year ends.

What Will Happen

Will Laura be able to navigate the crime bosses of Port Charles, even if it means losing a friendship with Sonny? Will her marriage to Kevin remain the most stable thing in her life? And will she eventually reconcile with Nikolas? Only time will tell, so stay tuned to General Hospital airing weekdays on ABC once again after the impeachment.
