Liz Webber Needs A General Hospital Storyline, Stat!

General Hospital spoilers reveal Elizabeth Webber continuing to be a talk-to character with no real story of her own. How long can this go on and why is it happening?

It never made sense earlier this year when the best partner Elizabeth has had in years, her husband, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) was killed. The explanation that the show didn’t feel the character could ever escape his serial killing past (caused by a brain tumor) never made sense considering how many other horrible characters have been redeemed through the years.

GH worked for a long time to make Franco into a popular character and it worked. And Elizabeth was in a healthy and popular pairing — and then it ended with no sensible reason behind it.

Even when GH brought Roger Howarth back as a brand-new character it would have made more sense to pair Elizabeth with Austin Holt than to try her with Michael Easton’s Hamilton Finn. At least Howarth and Rebecca Herbst have tried and true chemistry. And now Elizabeth’s relationship with Finn seems to be going nowhere fast.

Elizabeth Webber Baldwin is a GH heroine who has been around since her teens and to not give her a story and have her doing something for Elizabeth every day is insane. Instead, it’s as if she is Nurse 2 in the script, doing her job but not having a life. Sure, she was there for Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson)for Sasha’s baby drama and seemed more like Elizabeth than when she just spouts off nurses’ lines.

For a few weeks on General Hospital, we were teased with the idea that Elizabeth would finally deal with whatever happened between her and her father, Jeff Webber, that turned him into an absentee father since she was just a teenager, but that story seems to be dropped for now. GH, just give Liz something to do that’s worth of her since you ruined the best pairing she ever had for no real reason at all. She can’t just be a character that other characters lament to anymore.
