Our Dream General Hospital Recast—Why Roger Howarth MUST Be Recast As Jasper Jacks

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that now is a perfect time for Jasper Jacks (last played by Ingo Rademacher) to return to PC. His daughter is a WSB recruit, and his ex baby mamma is involved with the WSB boss. Surely he wouldn’t approve of this kettle of fish?!
There is one actor supremely suited to play a recast Jax—Roger Howarth, a man who has had almost nine lives on GH. Hear us out on why Howarth is the best fit for a Jax recast!
Jasper Jacks Recast
Howarth joined the ABC soap in 2012 as his One Life to Live character, Todd Manning. Next he played not one, but two other characters. Clearly Howarth has mad skills and the ability to disappear into any character demanded of him.
His second character was Franco Baldwin and then Austin Gatlin-Holt. Both of these characters met a gruesome end, and we think there has been enough time for the audience to say goodbye to them and move on to Howarth in another GH role.
Jax Was Played by Ingo Rademacher
Ingo Rademacher played Aussie bad boy charmer Jax from 1996-2013 and was rehired in 2019. He parted ways with the show after declining to be mandatorily vaccinated against Covid-19, which was ABC policy during the height of the pandemic.
Jax and Howarth are both fan faves which makes perfect sense for a recast now. Jax’s family is in a front burner story with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) involved with Jack Brennen who has secretly hired their daughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to be an undercover agent.
Jax and Carly Ride Again?
Jarly married in 2007 and divorced in 2013. In between, before, and afterward, there continued to be drama and sparks between them.
Even if Jarly doesn’t happen, there are plenty more ladies who would be perfect for Jax. Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) would give Jax a run for his money, as we now know she’s been keeping major secrets. But if Carly were to be attracted to Jax, this would make for some dynamite story between jealous Jack and Jacks.

No! I love Roger with all my heart and know he could probably make ANY character work, and as much as I’d love to have him back on GH, I just don’t see him as Jax. I don’t think he’d fit as Joss’s dad, and I’d hate to see him with Carly again. The recast Jagger (Adam Harrington) would have been a perfect Jax!! Or the first Brennsn (Charles Mesure). Even the current Brennan would fit better than RH. How about bringing him back as the REAL Drew, if the other pig is an imposter? Or) if we ABSOLUTELY, DEFINITELY, can’t have William DeVry back as Julian Jerome, RH would be a great fit for him too. Or create another whole new character. Yeah, I know, I can hear the whiners already…but it would be worth it to have him back on screen.
I think it is a terrible Idea! The fact that jasper Jax was an Aussie was an intricate part of the storyline. The entire Jax family was on at one time and Joss would visit them in Australia. Roger Howorth is an excellent actor, but he is definitely not to be believed as an Australian!

No way. He could never pull off Jax. If they even try that, they will sink GH. It just wouldn’t work.
I too don’t see Roger as Jax, even though I think he’s an excellent actor. He just doesn’t fit as Jax! Julian Jerome, possibly.
Roger definitely not a good replacement for Ingo. He had played to many characters on the show already. Bringing the Jacks brothers good idea for storyline especially with Joss working for WSB. We need a new character to play Harper Hacks if we can’t have Ingo back.
I’d love to see him back as Todd Manning. He’s got WAY too much chemistry with Maura West (as did Mr. DeVry) to play her brother, and I’ve never cared for the Jax character. The writers wasted his one love scene with Ava when he was playing the doctor; she seems to be just doing “hit-it-and-quit-it” pairings like with Cates (and who knows how long Rick Heart is staying?).
