Soap Opera News: The 50th Annual Daytime Emmys Airing On CBS Friday, June 16th

Major news for daytime drama fans everywhere! It doesn’t matter if you are an avid viewer of Bold and the Beautiful (B&B), Days of Our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), or the Young and the Restless (Y&R); the time to celebrate soaps is coming in June!

This year’s Daytime Emmys will once again air on primetime, with CBS hosting the show on Friday, June 16th at 9 p.m. EST. In addition, fans will be able to stream the show live on Paramount+.

Soap Opera News -Daytime Emmys Hits A Milestone With CBS

CBS will hit an interesting milestone with the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys, as 2023 marks the 17th time the network has broadcasted the award show. In addition, NATAS and CBS recently announced a two-year agreement for the Daytime Emmy Awards, ensuring the event will also air on the network for 2024.

This year’s award ceremony will be in L.A. at the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles. Nominations in all categories are set to be revealed in the weeks leading up to the big night. Adam Sharp, CEO and President of NATAS notes in a statement that the organization is “thrilled” to partner with CBS for the next two years to broadcast the Daytime Emmys.

As noted, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Daytime Emmys. Sharp also reveals in his statement that NATAS looks forward to celebrating and honoring the much-loved world of daytime TV, and commemorating the award show’s “golden” anniversary, in 2023.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Mitchell, VP of CBS’s specials, music, and live events notes in a statement that the network has a celebrated history in daytime television, and they are “delighted” to continue their partnership with Daytime Emmys over the next two years. She adds that CBS looks forward to celebrating the award show’s 50th anniversary and showcasing the “best” of daytime TV.
