What Happened To General Hospital’s Nelle Benson?

General Hospital’s Nelle Benson made herself a thorn in Carly’s side from the first day she stepped foot in Port Charles in 2016. Sure, she seemed indispensable at first, but Carly didn’t realize what a nightmare Nelle already was.

It took nearly four years for GH fans to find out why Nelle (Chloe Lanier) really had a vendetta against Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).

When she first arrived in PC as Josslyn Jacks’s (Eden McCoy) kidney donor, she ingratiated herself with the Corinthos clan and became Avery’s babysitter and Carly’s assistant.

Then, one night she drugged Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to make it look as if they slept together, but Carly learned of that plot before she divorced Sonny again.

Nelle eventually revealed that she was the daughter of Carly’s adoptive father Frank Benson, but that didn’t fully explain her hate for Carly.

Nelle also fell in love with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and became pregnant with his child before he broke things off with her. He believed she killed her former fiance and that may or may not have been true.

After a pregnant Nelle gaslit Carly into believing her dead son Morgan was haunting her, she tossed herself down the Quartermaine stairs and claimed Carly pushed her. Carly eventually went to Ferncliff for that false crime, but Nelle was caught after giving birth and went to prison.

Of course, she also switched her baby with the dead newborn Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) and Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) had adopted, but that truth finally came out a year and a half later.

When Nelle was released on parole, she tried to get custody of her son Wiley, who was now being raised by Michael and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), the birth mother of the baby who died.

When she lost custody, she kidnapped Wiley and eventually made her way to one of Sonny’s remote cabins. That is where Carly found her and chased her through the woods.

Nelle eventually fell right off a cliff, but managed to hang onto the edge for just a few minutes. When Carly found her, Nelle begged for help. Carly hesitated for a moment wondering if this was another one of Nelle’s trick, but she finally put out her hand to save Nelle’s life.

That’s when Nelle couldn’t hold on any longer and plunged to her alleged death. While a body was found, we never saw anyone identify it so could Nelle show up again one day?
