Who Is General Hospital’s Jagger Cates?

General Hospital fans were stunned on Friday, February 2 when Anna and Jordan were on a crime-solving mission and an FBI agent asked her if she recognized him. She called out the name “Jagger” and the fandom went into a tizzy.

General Hospital  Spoilers – Jagger Cates Is A Blast From The Past

Played by Antonio Sabato Jr, John ‘Jagger’ Cates was a street kid who was introduced to the Port Charles scene as a thug who tried to rob Kelly’s Diner.

However, he earned hero status when he was shot trying to save Ruby, Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) and Bobbie Spencer’s (Jacklyn Zeman) aunt, and also the owner of Kelly’s at the time.

Rather than help send Jagger to jail, Ruby hired him to work at Kelly’s, hence this mysterious stranger telling Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) that he once worked there many years ago. He was surprised to see it was now called Bobbie’s.

Back in 1992, Jagger became friendly with high school student Karen Wexler (Cari Shayne) and a romance ensued.

Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) tried to be the spoiler in their romance, but the real trouble came when Karen became a drug-addicted stripper working in Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) nightclub.

GH Spoilers – Jaggers Gets A Family

As Jagger became a regular player on the Port Charles scene, GH decided to give him some siblings.

He eventually found his sister Gina Cates (Stephanie Dicker) and brother Michael ‘Stone’ Cates (Michael Sutton) as they were all separated after their parents died.

For a while, Jagger seemed to have a promising boxing career with Marco Dane as his manager.

However, things went awry after Sonny tried to get him to throw a fight. Jagger eventually decided to fight crime rather than live a life of crime and became a police officer.

He and Karen wed and left town, but several years later, we learned they divorced because Jagger had an affair.

The next time we saw Jagger was more than a decade later when he returned to town and appeared on General Hospital: Night Shift. At the time, he was a single father raising Stone Cates Jr.

After his son was diagnosed with autism, Jagger left town and wasn’t seen again until Friday when he met autistic Leo Quatermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda) and told Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) he had an autistic adult son.
