General Hospital spoilers reveal that Max Gail is hitting it out of the park as Mike Corbin and his powerhouse performances leave no doubt that he deserved an Emmy in recognition of his nuanced and poignant work.
Why Max Gail deserved an Emmy just isn’t up for debate. He has been giving one dynamic performance after another on GH and his latest work is a testament to his incredible skill and talent as an actor.
However, once the Emmy’s were announced fans noticed Max was not nominated. Max headed to twitter to clear things up. And that is that dear Celebrating The Soaps fans. Max did not submit this year!
In my case I didn’t submit this year. I loved being nominated and the honor if actually winning, but not others losing. If Mo submitted and wasn’t nominated that surprises me, because he’s awesome.

General Hospital Spoilers – Max Gail has portrayed the end of Mike Corbin’s life with incredible realism
At the moment Mike is winding down but his son Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is having a hard time letting go. His reluctance to let his father die has added tremendously to Max Gail’s final scenes and this work alone is Emmy worthy.
But the truth of the matter is that Max Gail has given his all during his time as Mike Corbin. He has played out his days as a ladies’ man with sweet abandon and touchingly sought to reconnect with the son he left so long ago.

One scene, in particular, stands out among the interactions between Mike and Sonny. After suffering a seizure, Sonny was at Mike’s bedside and offered him a cup of water when he woke up. Mike was unsure of what to do and the fear in his eyes was palpable.
In the next moment, Mike grabbed Sonny and asked in a soft and heartbreaking voice, “is it over?”
For anyone but Sonny, his words may have indicated that Mike was wondering if his life was over. But Sonny, refusing to believe that it could be time for his father to depart, told him that yes, the movie was over.

I have been very impressed by his acting. He did a really good job.
He has been fantastic! Will be sad to see him leave!
Max Gail has hit the ball out of the park when it comes to his estranged now loving relationship with his son and Maurice has done the same. In my opinion this is the only story line on canvas at this time that brings both joy and sorrow and hits home every time the two actors interact. Of all actors on GH Max is the one that I wish could stay around as he brings so much to canvas. He will really be missed – that is unless it is found that his illness was misdiagnosed which would be wonderful.
I couldn’t agree more! He definitely deserves an emmy! I am currently dealing with my Mother-in -law that has alzheimers. His portrayal has been amazing. I know his story has to end but it will break my heart! Love Max Gail!
Having had a parent with Alzheimer, Mike deserves an Emmy & any other win he can get. He’s hitting it out of the park.
Having lived thru this horrible disease with parents, I can honestly say the acting between Max Gail and Maurice Bernard has been genius. Max’s portrayal has been brilliant and heartfelt..Both he and Maurice Bernard deserve Emmy’s to say the least…Outstanding acting
Max Gail is remarkable as Mike and if there is anyone who deserves that Emmy it’s him…….that said, Maurice has also been amazing as Sonny to Max’s Mike…what a great pair….
yes
Yes, he SHOULD get an EMMY !!
Impressed is not enough to say about Max Gail. This man came into the GH set with so much class, talent, sweetness, and chemistry with Maurice, Laura, Chad and everyone he touched. I love his tenderness towards his son and how much Sonny has done to forgive him and love him. This storyline is so hard to watch but so incredibly touching and profound. I’m always impressed how these incredibly talented actors can make these stories so realistic. You will be missed so much Max Gail and you definitely deserve the Emmy coming your way.
Absolutely without a doubt.
Max has made me smile and cry at the same time with his Mike character. He deserves every award made. Selfishly, I don’t want him to die as I’ll miss him so much. Thanks, Max! You have been wonderful!
I completely agree that Max Gail’s performance is Emmy worthy! My mom had dementia and he has done an outstanding job of portraying the slow and agonizing losses that she went through. He has brought me to tears many times.
Yes, Max deserve and Emmy and so does Maurice deserve one too. Both gave outstanding performances as Mike and Sonny. They both left me with tears of joy at one point and tears of sadden at another that Mike is really leaving and the look on Sonny’s face when he calls Mike Dad and Mike wait up and look at Sonny with so much love in his eyes It’s a heart breaking performance and the best performance on the show. It’s like Mike and Sonny have been on a journey together and they finally made it home but neither one wants to say good bye. Just when you think the scene is over and Mike is gone he reach down into the pit of his stomach and comes up with another beautiful scene between the two of them. It’s hard to think about Sonny with out thinking and talking about Mike. It’s like they finally found each other after a life time of being a part. The show want be the same with out Mike neither will Sonny or Jason. It’s like the three of them bonded together as they were taking Mike to New York. Like the old country. Words can not describe Mike and Sonny and Jason relationship, once they got to know Mike they both began to love him as with every one on the set. So, here’s to Max Gail from Barney Miller to Mike Corbin you given it your all and for that you truly deserve and Emmy and so does Maurice (Sonny). What a beautiful performances you have given us all to remember. Thanks to Maurice as your son and Jason for being there as your friend Mike’s. You will be miss
Absolutely! Max has done a wonderful performance as Mike! I’m sorry to see him go, but at the same time, it is hard to continue a role like that, on and on….I have been soooo happy to see Elizabeth included in these scenes with Mike! Great job writers! I have loved Sonny and Elizabeth’s friendship shown, as it should be! I absolutely LOVED Jason and Elizabeth’s scene, talking about Mike’s condition. I saw the look in Jason’s eyes and the chemistry and friendship that is, and always will be there with them. I still think this is the greatest love story never told… Jason loves Elizabeth so deeply, but will always protect her and Jake, by staying away. And we KNOW, how much Elizabeth loves Jason! That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it…. Liason Forever Fan….
max gale should have been nominated,he is a great actor,he will be missed,.
I cannot believe that Max was not one of the GH Emmy nominees. My Heavens … what a travesty! Who came up with this year’s nominee selections? Certainly, Maurice and Max were hands down fantastic with the Alzheimer’s story line … both absolutely mastered their roles. Who is so hung up on Steve Burton for a GH nominee? How can this be justified? (Now you Burton fans, don’t get your panties in a wad … be realistic in your thinking on THIS subject matter.) Burton had no actual story line this past year whereas you compare the Alzheimer’s story line with Maurice and Max to Burton’s non-story line … NO camparison at all, Folks! This recent nomination process is shameful.
