Why Peter August Died Perfectly On General Hospital

General Hospital: Peter August (Wes Ramsey)

General Hospital spoilers reveal all of Port Charles and the GH fandom basking in the knowledge that Peter August is truly dead this time. No incompetent doctors and nurses declaring him dead because Anna Devane and a few superwomen were involved this time around.

General Hospital Spoilers – The Perfect People To Take Out Peter August

Just like GH fans, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) dreamed of ways Peter (Wes Ramsey) would die and even came up with two methods for every letter of the alphabet. That’s some detailed thinking there, but alas, it took three women to take him down and it was glorious. Maxie kneed him in the groin, her mom Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) whacked him over the head with a tire iron, and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) just sat there and didn’t call an ambulance, but held his hand in tears as she watched the man she once thought of as her son die.

Anna being there for the last moments of this ill-conceived character’s life was perfect because he never should have existed to begin with. Giving Anna Devane a child with Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) was one of the worst ideas soap opera writers have come up with in decades, so they at least rectified that by giving him Alex Devane as a mother, but we still had to live with the fact that GH tried that move on us to begin with. It was perfectly acceptable and expected that Anna be the one to end this utter nightmare.

GH Spoilers – The Celebration Was Real

As Twitter celebrated with its own #PeterisDeadParty, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and company back at General Hospital poured the champagne, while on duty no less, and toasted to the death of a character that basically sucked the show up whole for nearly five miserable years. Remember that summer Liesl tied him to a bed and tortured him with cupcakes and sandwiches he desperately wanted to eat. She could have ended him right then and there, but Nina Reeves (then Michelle Stafford) stopped her. What were you thinking Nina?

In the end, alls well that ends well and now the soap can go on without Peter in every single story. That mantle is left to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), who is in every single story anyway but now she has to go it alone… Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to enjoy life without Peter August.
