Why Sam And Dante Just Does Not Work On General Hospital

General Hospital: Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) General Hospital did a daring thing by breaking up Jason and Sam, an uber-popular pair who just wasn’t working anymore.

General Hospital Spoilers –  A Supercouple Gone Wrong

Sam (Kelly Monaco) had outgrown the mob life when she was with Drew (Billy Miller) and hadn’t realized it until she saw too much of it once again when she was back with Jason (Steve Burton). She probably asks herself why she ever lost Drew, but he’s presumed dead and Sam knows she can never have him back. (Until one day he turns up alive again because this is a soap after all.)

While Jason is still doing the mob thing, getting himself shot, and going on the run, Sam seems to have become obsessed with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and being his friend. We know this is because the show wants to pair them but it just makes no sense.

GH Spoilers – A GH Supercouple That Just Seems Off

First, the love of Dante’s life is lingering in a coma and few people can figure out why Emme Rylan’s Lulu was ever written off the show. She wasn’t killed, so it seems the soap will bring her back again and that Lulu and Dante should be endgame. It will seem quite awkward if she wakes up and Dante is romantically involved with Sam for some odd reason.

Plus, who is this Sam? The old Sam would never want to help the police find Jason. Instead, she’d be on the run with him. This Sam is calling Jason by his full name, Jason Morgan, and trying to help Dante find him so he can arrest him and put him behind bars. It’s like the Bizarro Sam and the Bizarro Port Charles.

Finally, there just doesn’t seem to be any chemistry between Dante and Sam. They have too many siblings in common like Leo and Kristina. Plus, they never seemed interested in one another before, so why now?

The entire pairing feels forced, yet GH typically doesn’t abandon couples once it decides to go in a certain direction. Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Peter (Wes Ramsey) are prime examples and it took nearly three years to nip that in the bud. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how this odd pair works out.

      I agree that Dante and Sam doesn't work. Dante needs a shave and a haircut. How long is he going to look this way?

      Heck, during the last few years Sam hasn't seemed truly romantically involved with anyone. Almost every legendary pairing has been split for one reason or another and tried to be paired with another character which doesn't seem to be working in my opinion. When it isn't broken, one should not try to fix it. There are no truly loving, sizzling pairings on GH any more just characters hooked up for the cause of a story line.

      I love jasam but I would like to see were dante and sam go. sam needs someone who wont change her or use her to get over their true love.
