In tonight’s When Hope Calls: Brookfield episode, the good reverend was leaving quite a good impression on the town. Especially Nora. She liked talking with him. The two of them have even begun to share books.
Michael was growing jealous of the two of them together. He thought he should open up more to Nora. He sorta pushed her away when he found out her boss was dirty and he felt the need to explain why. He just rarely got the chance to say anything to her because people were always interrupting.
The first time it was because Debbie was holding a town council’s meeting in her shop. They couldn’t stay there nor could they got to the hotel next door seeing as Debbie suddenly needed advice from Nora.
Michael still got Nora to agree to meet him later at the hotel. Nora’s kids were on a field trip. She had the day off and she helped Debbie before heading over to the hotel. Just for them to get interrupted there as well. There was a man refusing to pay after feeding his animals at the cattle station.
Michael had to go over there to handle it in case things got dangerous. He eventually decided that they needed to go away from everyone to talk so he gave her a ride in his carriage. This way they both got to say what they needed to say.
Speaking of which, Maggie needed to have a tough conversation with Sam. Sam was changing. It was happening right in front of everyone. He became a hotelier.
He started dressing in suits. He did everything to throw business the hotel’s way and that included barging in on the council meeting.
He suggested that maybe they should have a mayor so that the council wouldn’t have to argue over silly stuff. Like wanting a community hall rather than using the hotel. Sam was slowly turning into Ronnie.
It was so frustrating for those that cared about him. Maggie struggled the most although Joe felt he could no longer confide in Sam either. Joe was at his wits end with Ronnie.
They’ve been living together and it felt like Ronnie was taking up all the oxygen in the room. Maggie started to agree with him before she realized he was discussing other than Sam. Sam wasn’t being the man that Maggie felt in love with.
He was acting more like a stranger and Joe needed that stranger’s help because he can no longer live with Ronnie. He needed back his peaceful quiet.
Michael finally had the quiet he needed to talk to Nora. He just didn’t know what to say. Not at first. It took some prodding from Nora before he admitting to what happened with his first love. He was a different person back then.
He worked at the family company. He had the mansion. He had the country house. It was all going well for him and what’s her face until he saw a woman get robbed on the street. He chased after the robber. He caught him and recovered the stolen handbag. It showed him that this was what he wanted to do.
Michael left the family company. He walked away from the super rich lifestyle. His love on the other hand didn’t want to give that up.
Being the wife of a mere Mountie was disappointing for her so she walked away from Michael. He was heartbroken for a long time. He now realizes he was better off. He now has a career he loves and one that he won’t give up just for anyone. He still that admits that it was hard to put himself out there. It wasn’t easy for him to vulnerable to anyone much less Nora and Nora understood that.
What’s more, she respected it.
Nora was later asked about him. She refused to repeat to her friends what he confided in her. She did say he opened up and that their conversation was great. Maggie only wishes she had such a conversation with Sam because he was closing himself off from her.
Her friends told her to be honest wit him. Ronnie also told Sam the same thing about talking to Maggie. They fell in love and now they needed to communicate it. The women were all talking because they were helping Hannah. Hannah finished her collection to ship to Justine when unfortunately it caught fire from Ronnie’s automobile.
Hannah thought she had let down her investor. She was upset. She lashed out at Wyatt because she felt he didn’t respect her fashion career as much as she hoped.
She didn’t know until it later on that Wyatt had called in Hannah’s friends and got them to help her recreate her fashion collection.
They stayed up all night helping her sew. Hannah finished it. She also got a ride Ronnie to make sure her collection was on the next train ride out of there. Hannah felt so bad about being mean to Wyatt that she threw herself back into the ranch afterwards.
But there was still an issue. L&M Cattle Company was sniffing around town. They want to buy up land in Brookfield.
Tess was doing her best to stop them only they seemed to have gotten one rancher on the hook. Tom Clay was seen talking to them. No good would come from that conversation. Nor will any good come from Michael being reassigned to a new town. He got his letter not long after his conversation with Nora.
THE END!
