Alison Sweeney Sees A Wish Come True In Love & Jane On Hallmark Channel

While soap fans know Alison Sweeney for her previous role in Days of Our Lives, the Hallmark actor is in yet another movie. She will be leading opposite her co-star in The Chronicle Mysteries, Benjamin Ayres.

The movie is Love & Jane and premieres as part of a Jane Austen tribute on February 10, at 8 pm ET on the feel-good channel. Read on to find out more about the upcoming movie and its cast.

While Alison Sweeney isn’t returning to the popular soap, Days of Our Lives any time soon, fans can see get to watch the popular actress. The Hallmark Channel is running a special tribute to author Jane Austen from February 3 through February 24, 2024.

Four new, original movies are set to premiere, honoring the author’s legacy. As part of the programming event, Sweeney stars with her The Chronicle Mysteries co-star, Benjamin Ayres in the movie, Love & Jane.

Fans will recall Alison and Benjamin in The Chronicle Mysteries movie series, and in the new movie, Sweeney plays Lily, a hopeless romantic and literary enthusiast. In the storyline, Lily makes a wish to talk to her favorite author and is amazed when it comes true. With a little Hallmark magic, Jane Austen appears in her life to offer some much-needed guidance.

About the new movie

Prior to the upcoming premiere on February 10, Sweeney gave her fans and followers a sneak peek of her and Ayres’ characters in the movie on Instagram. In her lengthy caption, Alison explains how the writer/director David Weaver “came up with a brilliant story and when we pitched it to Elizabeth Missan Yost and Hallmark, they felt the same.”

Being a huge Austen fan herself, Sweeney is happy to honor her and also noted how “just perfect” Benjamin is in the role. On his side, Ayres noted in a comment on the Instagram post, “Loved getting to tell this story with you, Ali!”

More movies in the Jane Austen programming event on Hallmark

As previously reported, the other three movies in the Jane Austen tribute include Paging Mr. Darcy, starring Mallory Jansen and Will Kemp, and premiering on February 3. On February 17, Hallmark fans will get to watch Eliza Bennett and Nicholas Bishop in An American in Austen.

Finally, the Hallmark Mahogany movie, Sense & Sensibility stars Deborah Ayorinde, Bethany Antonia, Akil Largie and Dan Jeannotte. That movie airs on February 24.
