Hallmark Channel stars are often treated to a trip overseas when filming movies and in this case, Bethany Joy Lenz opens up on making Savoring Paris.

The actress explained about the “terrific fun” and “cheese” she had in Paris while filming. That movie is set to premiere on June 8 on Hallmark Channel. Read on to find out the lead star’s reaction to filming in Paris, the City of Light.

Recently, it was reported that Hallmark Channel will air four new, original movies in its Passport to Love programming event. Each of these movies is set in Europe, which naturally was a great experience for the Hallmark stars involved.

One Tree Hill alum Bethany Joy Lenz has recently reacted to her role in the movie and the experience of visiting Paris. Savoring Paris premieres on June 8 on Hallmark Channel and tells the story of Ella, who quits her job as an executive for a food chain. She decides to head to Paris to try to revisit the magic she recalls from her college trip to Paris.

In a new trailer for the movie released by People, Lenz says:

I accept the grand adventure and I promise to eat good cheese!

In the movie, her character Ella quickly makes friends in Paris, including two handsome single men. According to Ella’s mom (Lucy Newman-Williams), one is a food critic, played by Ben Wiggins, while the other is a “rugged cheesemonger” with Stanley Weber in the role.

Meanwhile, part of the movie was filmed on location in Paris, which Lenz, 43, told People “was a dream, as expected,” adding:

I loved the wildness of it. You can’t control Paris. You can’t tell pedestrians what to do. You just have to improvise with whatever you have. It was terrific fun.

Lenz, who last year starred in A Biltmore Christmas, said that working on Savoring Paris was an experience that changed her. She said the movie will always be special to her because of what she learned from her character, saying:

She’s the first woman I’ve played who is used to making space for everyone else, but taking up none of her own. I’ve usually felt like I need to fight for my space, so living in the skin of someone more demure was a unique experience.

It forced me to slow down, listen more, empathize more, stop trying to lead or control things. I loved it and I hope I can carry that lesson on in perpetuity.

When does the movie premiere on Hallmark?
