Charlie Weber & Elizabeth Henstridge Team Up To Solve A Murder In Hallmark’s Mystery Island

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has announced the new, original movie, Mystery Island, starring Elizabeth Henstridge and Charlie Weber. Premiering in September, the movie sees a police detective and a British criminal psychiatrist work to solve a real-life murder during a themed mystery vacation. Mystery Island on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

According to the official synopsis, a vacationing British criminal psychiatrist and a police detective team up to unravel a web of lies and suspicious characters to solve a murder. London Police psychiatrist Dr. Emilia Priestly (Elizabeth Henstridge) needs to take a relaxing break from her stressful job.

Due to this, her wealthy friend, Baroness Jane Alcott (Kezia Burrows), invites her to Mystery Island, an immersive murder-mystery-themed resort hosting a special retreat for the original investors.

As the mystery game begins, tragedy strikes. John Murtaugh (Robert Getman), the resort’s reclusive founder, is murdered. Due to this, visitors are confined to the island as local detective Jason Trent (Weber) investigates the case.

Once Emilia has proven her innocence, she uses her special skills to help Jason find the murderer. Meanwhile, the lines between reality and game are blurred as the pair unravels a web of romance, betrayal and revenge behind the resort, its guests and its reclusive founder.

Elizabeth Henstridge, who plays the role of Emilia has previously starred in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Wolves At the Door. Meanwhile, Charlie Weber, who plays Jason, is known for his roles in How to Get Away With Murder and As They Made Us.

Kezia Burrows, who plays the role of Jane Alcott, has previously starred in Crash, Apple Tree Yard and Observation. The role of John Murtaugh is played by Robert Getman of The Unholy and Peter and the Wolf fame.

So far uncredited roles are played by Noelia Rothery (Salta, Poliamor), Andres Morales (Algo Azul, Fuera de Control), and Kara Lane (The Rarity). Moreover, other uncredited roles include Henry Twohy (Escobar: Paradise Lost), Randy Dominguez (La Pasiva, 9 de Enero) and Yimara Perez Royko (El Picaflor, Quien TV).

Mystery Island hails from Cartel Pictures LLC, with Stan Spry, Eric Woods, Anthony Fankhauser and Steven R. Moscoe executive producing. Meanwhile, Garrett VanDusen and Michael Watt serve as producers. The movie is directed by Nicholas Humphries from a script penned by John Christian Plumber.
