Chesapeake Shores News: Chessies Wonder Why Season 4 Was Shortened – Spinoff Movie in Production

‘Chesapeake Shores’ spoilers revealed that the top-rated Hallmark Channel drama will come back for a fifth season. Why was the fourth season of ‘CS’ shortened to only six episodes? The O’Brien sisters are starring in a spinoff movie that is currently in production.

The original Hallmark Channel movie is yet unnamed, but we do know this, Bree, Abby, and Jess are traveling to Rome to attend the wedding of a childhood friend. The network revealed this information about the spinoff.

“With the winter weather dreary in Chesapeake Shores and their own love lives in a complicated state, Abby (Meghan Ory), Bree (Emilie Ullerup), and Jess (Laci Mailey) head to Rome for the wedding of a childhood friend. While in Rome, they discover the wedding plans are in complete chaos and the bride may have a case of pre-wedding jitters because she has gone missing. In an attempt to find the bride, the O’Brien sisters scour the sites of Rome and work to create a happily ever after, while ultimately realizing the romance they each deserve back home in Chesapeake Shores.”

Chessies are certain the love of Abby’s life is childhood sweetheart Trace Riley (Jesse Metcalfe), a singer/songwriter who put his career ahead of their relationship. Trace realized life on the road wasn’t what he expected and returned home. During the fourth season, Abby was cooled to the romance, protecting her heart. Trace, however, desperately tried to pick up where they left off.

Jess has traveled a long road to happiness with David (Carlo Marks). The B&B owner is finally engaged and finding happiness. Will the trip Rome complicate her relationship with David? Only time will tell.

The ‘Chesapeake Shores’ Season 4 finale found Bree putting her career front and center. Chessies are wondering if Bree regrets the decision to end her relationship with Simon. Who knows, perhaps Simon will bump into the O’Brien sisters in Rome and find his way back to Chesapeake Shores. The handsome Englishman (Oliver Rice) may come back to sweep the author and playwright off her feet.
