Chicago Med Star Torrey DeVitto In Hallmark Holiday Film The Christmas Promise

Torrey DeVitto is well known for her role in NBC’s Chicago Med, which she left in May. However, she will soon be back on the small screen for a new Hallmark film The Christmas Promise. She will be starring along with Patrick Duffy (Dallas, Step-By-Step) and Dylan Bruce (Orphan Black, Midnight, Texas).

About The Christmas Promise

Set to appear on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, The Christmas Promise stars Torrey DeVitto as Nicole, a woman who learns to deal with grief with the help of her grandfather (Patrick Duffy). As noted by Fansided, she is also helped by a carpenter named Joe (Dylan Bruce), who she hires to renovate the home she was supposed to share with her fiancé.

Production on The Christmas Promise starts this week in Vancouver, Canada. While there is no premiere date available as yet, the film will premiere on the network as part of its Miracles of Christmas programming event.

Production Of The New Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Film

The Christmas Promise is the third film from producers Kathy Kloves and Risa Shapiro, who had success with the previous Hallmark movies, It Was Always You and Love at First Glance. Both films were scripted by Kloves. Another producer involved in the new holiday film is Sunta Izzicupo, while Fred Gerber of Front Street Picture Inc. directs from Kloves’ original script.

About The Stars Of The Christmas Promise

Most recently, DeVitto played the role of Dr. Natalie Manning in NBC’s Chicago Med for six seasons before leaving the show. Previously, she appeared in Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries and Army Wives. Meanwhile, Torrey’s next project is a film titled Skelly, where she acts alongside John Palladino and Brian Cox.

Bruce is known well for his performance as Chris Hughes in the CBS show As The World Turns as well as the character Paul Dierden in the sci-fi series Orphan Black. He has also appeared in Magnum P.I. on CBS and the 2020 movie Search and Destroy.

Who can forget Patrick Duffy for his role as Bobby Ewing in the original series of Dallas, along with its modern-day reboot for TNT? However, the veteran actor has extensive credits for a number of roles in Knots Landing, Step-By-Step, All Rise, The Bold and the Beautiful and NCIS.
