According to the official Hallmark synopsis, Renée (Lengies) has always dreamed of starting her own business. However, when her mom (Paula Boudreau) got sick, she and her husband, Aaron (Sevier) moved back to the suburbs to care for her, putting both their dreams on hold.

Fast forward 10 years, and Renée is stuck in a rut with mounting bills and a dead-end job that puts pressure on her normally happy marriage. However, after a particularly bad day working in a local gift shop, an elf running the Santa display offers to grant her a Christmas wish.

While Renée is skeptical, her exasperation gets the better of her and she wishes for a different life. Meanwhile, that dream came true, as she awakens in a New York City high-rise as the CEO of one of the most successful meal kit delivery companies in the world. Even better, Renée’s mom is still alive.

While her wish has come true and her new reality seems perfect, there is just one thing – she is no longer married to Aaron. However, in a desperate attempt to win him back, Renée hires Aaron – now a successful chef – to develop a Christmas dinner meal kit benefiting local food banks.
