When Calls the Heart Knows the Feeling

Good Witch is not the only Hallmark Channel TV show that was in the dark about the future. When Calls the Heart recently went through the same situation. Despite good ratings and the popular show having a huge fan base, there was uncertainty.

In the past, the network announced renewal plans early in the season. So, it’s understandable why the network’s long silence concerned fans. However, WCTH was renewed, but the announcement wasn’t announced until the last possible moment.

Will There Be Good Witch Season 7?

It seems that Good Witch is going through the same ordeal as When Calls the Heart. On Sunday, May 6, Hallmark Channel aired the Good Witch season 6 premiere. Everyone was hoping to hear news by now about the show’s fate, Good Housekeeping revealed.

While no announcement has been made, Hallmark did show support for Good Witch. That is actually a good sign.

Glowing Reviews and Impressive Ratings

The Good Witch season 6 premiere had impressive ratings. The May 6 episode pulled in 2.9 million viewers. While ratings are a major factor in deciding to renew or cancel TV shows, there are other considerations.

In addition to great ratings, Hallmark Channel shared raving reviews of Good Witch. The network was proud, so that is another positive sign that points to a possible renewal.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, production had to be halted. Many shows thought it would only last a few weeks. However, it has now been two months since quarantine began. The COVID-19 crisis-affected filming in a big way. TV shows started running out of new episodes to air. This includes both CBS’ soap operas, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

COVID-19 Affecting Renewal and Cancellations?

It is possible that Hallmark’s delay in announcing the future of Good Witch is tied to the global health crisis. Not only is filming unclear right now, but certain tasks may have been set aside until it is confirmed that production can resume. With that being said, people want to be kept in the loop — even if it is a network confessing,“we don’t know.”

The problem with staying silent is that people’s mind envisions all kinds of worst-case scenarios. It also opens the door to allow rumors to circulate, and that leads to confusion and incorrect information.

I used to watch the original right from the beginning, then the new one when Sam arrived. Now it gets boring with Grace and Nick gone.
    Sorry time to cancel
