Hallmark Channel – The New Christmas Movies
Bure spoke out to fans on the Insider and told them all about her new film, The Christmas Contest. She took the time to talk about how she feels that the network really has made some changes when it comes to inclusivity. She said, “Hallmark has definitely made changes in that direction, which we are all very, very happy to see. It’s very important to me in all the casting that we do for the films, and it’s important to represent all people and all of their journeys and their family dynamics.”
Candace also pointed out that she feels that in these holiday movies, the families really do all look different and all of these movies should make everyone feel a different way. In 2020, one of the first movies with queer characters premiered on Hallmark and it was The Christmas House. This year, there is a sequel that fans can catch.
Hallmark Channel – The Queen Of Christmas
Even though Bure is very religious in the Christian faith, she does stand by the fact that there needs to be more variety when it comes to religions on the Hallmark Channel. Just like the family dynamics looking different, not everyone celebrates Christmas, so she feels that it is important to focus on other religions during the holidays as well.
From what we have seen so far, there have been many changes to add diversity to Hallmark movies and shows and this push may create even more for us.
