Candace Cameron Bure And Fuller House

Candace Cameron Bure stars in the new Hallmark Christmas movie, The Christmas Contest, along with her Fuller House co-star John Brotherton. The popular Full House spinoff show ran for five seasons, concluding with season 5 in June 2020. In the show, Bure and her original co-stars revisited the lives of the Tanner family and their friends.

The show became a hit, with Bure playing eldest sister D.J. Tanner and her character had two main love interests in the Full House spinoff. There was her childhood sweetheart Steve (Scott Weigner) and veterinarian Matt (John Brotherton). Her character ends up rejecting Matt’s proposal, with D.J. reigniting her relationship with Steve. Not everyone was happy with her choice of partner.

Hallmark’s much-loved Countdown to Christmas launched last Friday, October 22 and the channel has 41 new movies lined up for fans. When it comes to The Christmas Contest, fans will see Candace with her Fuller House co-star John Brotherton, when the film premieres on November 28.

Fuller House fans were divided over whether D.J. should have ended up with Matt or Steve, so the two actors reuniting on the set of the Christmas movie might feel like a victory for #TeamMatt. Bure was recently interviewed about her new project by E! Online, where she shared her excitement about working with Brotherton again. Candace dedicated the movie to “all the fans that wanted Matt and D.J. together.”

When Bure was asked what she could reveal about the movie, she announced that there are many Fuller House Easter eggs in The Christmas Contest, just waiting for fans to spot them.

Candace said, “What can I tease about the movie? Well, it’s The Christmas Contest so it’s very competitive. There’s lots of fun Easter eggs for those Fuller House fans. This is a rom-com. There’s a lot of comedy and there’s a lot of heart.”
