Hallmark Channel news reveals that Sweeney and Mathison have stayed busy starring in several installments for the “Murder, She Baked” franchise. The adventure for Hearties began when we were introduced to Hannah Swensen, a baker extraordinaire in a small Minnesota town. Hannah, who owns The Cookie Jar, is where all the town went for the latest gossip. That means secrets don’t stay hidden for very long.

However, there is a murder, and Hannah’s world comes crashing down. That set the stage for the following movies to pair Hannah and Mike together. So far, there has been “A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery,” “A Plum Pudding Mystery,” “A Peach Cobbler Mystery,” “A Deadly Recipe,” “Just Desserts.”

A New Hannah Swensen Mystery

Hallmark Channel news states that Sweeney and Kingston will be reuniting for another Hannah Swensen mystery. However, this one is a bit different and has a bit of a twist. According to ET, they are kicking off a brand new mystery. The report states that Hannah and Mike are enjoying their engagement while trying to navigate their busy professional lives. But then there is a murder at Hannah’s fitness center and it complicates the wedding plans. Hannah will be back to digging up the truth and once again, it could affect Mike’s investigation.

Production begins this week in Vancouver and it will air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in summer 2021.

In a statement, Sweeney talked about her excitement about reuniting with Mathison and Barbara Niven for another “Murder, She Baked” mystery. The actress said,

“I’m so excited to revisit Hannah Swensen and to again work with Cameron and Barbara on these fun stories that combine romance with intrigue. The fans have been so vocal in their love of these characters and it’s exciting to be bringing them back to life and to return to Hannah’s bakery where it all began.”
