Hallmark Channel News: Erin Krakow Talks ‘When Calls The Heart’ Spoilers And Finale, Friendship with Lori Laughlin

The Hallmark Channel’s hit series When Calls the Heart [WCTH] left viewers with a major cliffhanger with the season 6 finale. Elizabeth Thatcher [Erin Krakow] opened her heart just a bit, choosing to dance with Lucas Bouchard [Chris McNally]. However, she did lock eyes with Nathan Grant [Kevin McGarry]. This all happened without Elizabeth’s friend Abigail Stanton [Lori Laughlin] to lean on for advice.
Life for the cast of When Calls the Heart was shaken up when Lori Laughlin was arrested in a college admissions cheating scandal. The Hallmark Channel cut ties with the actress, who portrayed the town mayor Abigail Stanton since WCTH premiered in 2014.
Abigail Stanton was written off the Hallmark Channel’s hit series, but the character is a pivotal person in the town. When Calls the Heart spoilers tease that fans would like to see the role recast.
Erin Krakow sent out birthday wishes to Lori Laughlin just a few days go on Instagram. The black and white photo shows Erin and Lori smiling and hugging. The pic is captioned, “Happy Birthday to my forever friend with a heart of gold. Love you!”
In a recent interview given at the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Summer 2019 TCA event, Krakow revealed, “I miss her very much. Yeah, she’s my best, best friend, so that was hard not having her there, obviously.”
In the interview Erin opened up about the When Calls the Heart season 6 finale, teasing some spoilers fans may see in the seventh season of WCTH. In response to the explosion of tweets following the season finale, Erin had this to say in the interview:
“Open to interpretation. It was ladies’ choice. There were a lot of guys on the floor. Maybe she picked the first one she saw, or maybe she felt more of a connection with Lucas. I don’t know. We’ll have to watch season seven and find out.”
Erin continued: ”I don’t (think either will take Jack’s place). I meant it when I said I think these romances should blossom slowly. I think we’re going to take our time with that. No one will be stepping into Jack’s footsteps right away.”
When Calls the Heart returns in 2020, no official date has yet been released. Will the Hallmark Channel recast the role of Abigail? Is it possible that Lori Laughlin will return once her legal issues have been resolved?
WCTH spoilers indicate that fans are, for the most part, happy with the When Calls the Heart season 6 finale. They are open to either recast or Laughlin returning to the Hallmark Channel television series.

Please bring back Lori Laughlin after her legal issues are done!! Not excusing her deeds, but everyone deserves a 2nd chance, and there are much worse acts she could have committed. She is my favorite on hallmark shows and movies!!
Very good article, except 1 thing. Abigail WAS NOT the mayor in season 1. That “bad guy ” mayor was the mayor.(Not sitting in front of computer to look it up right now, but you know which actor I’m talking about.) Other than that, I’m waiting on I think it’s season 6 to air on Netflix.
