Hallmark Channel News: Jesse Metcalfe Stars In New Hallmark Signature Mystery Series

Jesse Metcalfe, along with Sarah Lind, stars in a new Hallmark movie called “A Beautiful Place to Die: A Martha’s Vineyard Mystery.” The all-new Signature Mystery Series is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at 8 pm/7c. The film is penned by Kraig Wenman and directed by Mark Jean.

Hallmark’s “Signature Mystery” campaign was announced back in February. It features brand new films from a few of its popular film series plus some new franchises.

Metcalfe’s Acting Journey

Viewers may recall Metcalfe from his role Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald on “Passions.” He joined the cast since the show was launched in July 1999 and left the show in March 2004. It was announced that the actor decided not to renew his contract and he was last seen on the sudser in July 2004.

Short Stint On Desperate Housewives

The American actor debuted his character, the teen gardener John Rowland, in the ABC comedy-drama series called “Desperate Housewives” back in October 2004. His role on the show, wherein he had an affair with married housewife Gabrielle Solis, played by Eva Longoria, earned him a Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Breakout Performance: Male category. After the first season, the actor was dropped to recurring status and his final airdate as one of the show’s special guest star was in October 2009.

He appeared in the 20TH Century Fox comedy movie titled “John Tucker Must Die” in 2006 and starred in the horror film “Insanitarium” in July 2008. He also appeared on “The Other End of the Line,” and “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.” His other acting credits include “Chase,” “Fairfield Road,” “Dallas,” “Dead Rising: Watchtower,” “Dead Rising: Endgame,” and the Hallmark movie “A Country Wedding.”

His other Hallmark movies include “Christmas Next Door” and “Christmas Under the Stars.”

Awards and Nominations

In 2000, Metcalfe received a nomination for Favorite Teen Star in the Soap Opera Digest Awards for his role on “Passions.” In 2005, he won two awards for his role on “Desperate Housewives.” He won the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Breakout Performance: Male category. In the same year, he also earned a nomination for Teen Choice Awards for the Choice TV Actor: Comedy category.
