Hallmark Channel News: Lacey Chabert Talks ‘Christmas In Rome,’ Personal Memories From Hallmark Movies

Lacey Chabert

Lacey Chabert, star of the ‘Crossword Puzzle Mysteries’ sat down for a live chat to talk about the Hallmark Original movie, ‘Christmas In Rome.’

In addition to portraying Tess Harper, a crossword puzzle editor, in ‘Crossword Puzzle Mysteries,’ Lacey has starred in several Hallmark movies. The actress revealed that many of the producers and people at the network have become close friends, it really is like being part of a family.

‘Christmas In Rome’ is another of the brand new original movies airing on Hallmark Channel for the 10th Annual Countdown to Christmas extravaganza.

“This one I really love. It’s Christmas, it’s a beautiful love story. I really hope that [the audience] has gone on the journey with us.”

‘Christmas in Rome’ gets off to a bad start for Angela [Lacey Chabert]. She’s been fired from her job as a tour guide because she doesn’t stick to the scripted tours of the city, instead opting to show people her view of the beautiful city that most tourists don’t get to see.

This unfortunate situation turns into a fantastic new opportunity for her to spread her wings and go out on her own. Along comes Oliver (Sam Page), who is traveling through Rome on a short business trip.

Angela is a little bit shocked that Sam has no intention of touring Rome. He’s in town for business, not pleasure. Who goes to Rome and doesn’t absorb the culture, beauty, and romance? Lacey explains, “[Angela and Sam] agree she will give him a tour, and in doing so they learn not only about the city but about themselves.” Of course, Oliver and Angela fall in love!

While filming ‘Christmas In Rome’ Lacey and her co-star Sam had the opportunity to get out and sample the local cuisine. “That was my favorite part of the whole shoot was the food. It was amazing. I feel like you just have to enjoy those experiences when you have the chance. So, there’s no holding back. I’m like all in! Pasta, pizza, gelato!” Of course, Lacey is hoping for a sequel to ‘Christmas In Rome.’

Moving on and talking about the Hallmark family, Lacey answered questions about her favorite memories and Hallmark movies.

If Lacey had to pick just one Hallmark holiday-themed move that was most special to her, which one would it be?

The actress answered, “In a ‘Wish For Christmas’ I was pregnant with my daughter, I will always remember that because I knew she was in my belly for that movie. It’s hard to forget because in every scene I’m holding [something].’

Another memory comes from ‘A Royal Christmas,’ something very personal. Did you know Lacey wore her own wedding dress while shooting on location in Romania? “Those personal attachments are what I remember most about the movies.”

‘Christmas In Rome’ makes its world premiere Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. on Hallmark Channel. Don’t miss out on the fun. Lacey will be live Tweeting during this Christmas movie while on set filming another Hallmark movie.
