We knew sooner or later that this was going to happen. There’s a new report that says the Lifetime Channel is planning on making a movie about a Hallmark star and one of the biggest celebrity scandals to come out of Hollywood in the last six months.
That’s right: the Lifetime Channel is wasting no time in making a television movie about Lori Loughlin and the college admission scandal that made headlines earlier this year. Here’s what you need to know.
Loughlin was fired from the Hallmark Channel after reports indicated that she and her husband Mossimo Giannulli (of Target t-shirt fame), were indicted for apparently bribing college admission administrators to accept their daughters, Olivia and Isabella, into prestigious universities. Loughlin’s When Calls the Heart character was written out of the show shortly after the scandal made headlines.

The other famous parent that made headlines for the scandal was actress Felicity Huffman. And now reports say that actresses Penelope Ann Miller and Mia Kirshner will play the two actresses in the Lifetime film.
And while the film won’t be mentioning Loughlin and Huffman by name, it will certainly use a lot of details about their scandal.
It will follow “two wealthy mothers, Caroline, a sought after interior designer and Bethany, an owner of a successful financial services firm, who share an obsession with getting their teenagers into the best possible college,” a press release said.

“When charismatic college admissions consultant Rick Singer (Michael Shanks) offers a side door into the prestigious institutions of their dreams, Caroline and Bethany willingly partake with visions of coveted acceptance letters in their heads.
“But when Singer cooperates with the FBI and pleads guilty, the mothers who risked everything for their kids, must face the consequences of their crimes and the loss of trust and respect from their families.”

Now, how the movie ends, no one knows for sure. In fact, even Loughlin herself probably doesn’t know what her own real-life ending will look like! Filming is to begin this month. The movie is expected to premiere on the cable network in the fall.

Yes – I’ll watch. As soon as LL is in prison – can hardly wait.
I will also watch. I just hope Hallmark includes in the storyline, the devastation and destruction of the children who legally achieved their spots at the colleges, but were bumped out because the schools needed to make room for the rich and now famous. Showing the trail of devastation the other families have been on, from the choices the wealthy LL made, would be good.
I plan to watch. I miss her on WCTH. It has not been near as good as it was! She is missed!
