Plus, there were two Christmas movies last year that had LGBT characters. The CEO has promised there will be more progress moving forward while being grilled about the subject.
Hallmark Channel News – Crown Media Family Networks CEO Grilled
Hallmark Channel news reveals that Wonya Lucas is the CEO and president of Crown Media Family Networks and made a statement regarding LGBT during the winter Television Critics Association meeting, per The Wrap. The network has promised to move forward and includes more LGBT characters and storylines. This comes as reports pour in from media outlets that the CEO was grilled about it. Critics say that three movies out of the hundreds that are filmed don’t even make a dent. They also say that there really has been no progress in LGBT leads and that the characters are still being hidden in the background.
Hallmark Channel News – CEO Responds
Lucas responded to the critics during the meeting and insists that the network has made progress and they are proud of that progress.
“When I think about the Hallmark brand, it is inclusive, and all you have to do is walk in a Hallmark store and you can see cards for LGBTQ community, for Mahogany [a line of Hallmark cards], for the African American female community, and so on and so forth, faith. And so, we are really seeking to make sure that everyone can see themselves in our movies, because when we talk to our consumers, whether we’re talking to consumers of different races and ethnicities, even generationally, there are common themes and things that they are looking for in our movies. What we are going to do moving forward is just add a little more authenticity and complexity to the storylines.”
Hallmark Channel News – First Hallmark Movie With Gay Lead
This month, “Mix Up in the Mediterranean” will be Hallmark’s first movie with a gay lead. The film centers on a single man whose brother is a famous chef that is married to another man. During the meeting, the CEO brought up this movie during the heated discussion. Two Christmas movies that included LGBT characters were also mentioned, The Christmas House and Wedding Every Weekend.

Hallmark Channel News – Same-Sex Ad Controversy
Hallmark Channel news reveals that Hallmark pulled a same-sex ad on its network after complaints from viewers. Then, when they were slammed for doing so, they did a total 180. Guess I'll be canceling Hallmark
sad to see the family friendly hallmark caving to the LGBT crowd, so much of it now, more so than straight couples, will not watch any gay couples in the hallmark, will only watch straight couples, another great channle caving to the woke gay crowd
We will not be watching this movie. And any other one that has married lgbt characters.
If Hallmark plans to go this way, I won’t be watching their movies and will have to cancel the channel.

I don't like the move to the homosexual agenda, so if I watch Hallmark I watch the movies made prior to 2018 or I just don't watch Hallmark at all if they are promoting a new movie with homos in it. I do my own boycotting.
Huge Mistake Hallmark. This change/shift is ridiculous, when doing it just to satisfy/validate such a small portion of the community that constantly have to try and force their ways on the majority – and, we, the majority do not want our children even thinking that this is something they should aspire to. Your network used to be fantastic! No more Hallmark if this is the case.
I believe the hallmark channel became what it was is attributed to the message we the viewer received from the production.Yes, I was laughed at by my friends when I said how much I enjoyed the movies not just at Christmas but all year long.I’ll agree the story lines are similar and the outcome is predictable but I have a good feeling inside and sometimes a tear in my eye as the credits roll.There is far too much bad in the world today from what we hear in the news and see on tv and movies.Please stay with productions that make us feel happy inside and not fearing for our lives from some stalker or group of individuals causing massive destruction and injuries in what they call a peaceful protest.Now the Hallmark Channel is bowing down to a small percentage of people who already have networks that produce material for their specific preferences.Why do people always try to change a good thing.Everyone has a right to their own convictions but don’t try to force them on me.Hallmark please stay strong and make those feel good movies that the vast majority of your base wants to watch.

I canceled my Hallmark Now subscription b/c Hallmark has caved to the pc crowd!!!! The color of someone’s skin and the immortal bedroom habits of a small percentage of people are worlds apart!!!! Do not make them equal!!!!
