The latest film from Hallmark tells the story of a marriage therapist who could learn a lot from herself in solving her own marriage problems.
Starring Julie Gonzalo (Dallas), Peri Gilpin (Frasier), Jonathan Chase, and Andre Hall (Love Thy Neighbor and Karla Mosley (The Bold and the Beautiful), the new Hallmark debut is How to Train Your Husband. It tells the story of a marriage therapist, who is great at her job but doesn’t take her own advice when it comes to her own marriage.
Synopsis of How to Train Your Husband
The new Hallmark movie tells the story of Jillian James (Gonzalo), a marriage therapist and best-selling author who really knows her stuff. However, while she can dish out advice and help other couples with their problems, her own marriage is in trouble.
Jillian met her husband, Justin James (Chase) in grad school, but now their marriage is struggling. While she solves everyone else’s problems with ease, can she follow her own advice?
Marriage therapist goes to her mom for marriage advice
While Jillian and Justin are struggling, Jillian’s friends, Nicole (Mosley) and Aaron (Hall) have the perfect marriage. Jillian knows she needs to fix her problems with Justin, so she goes to her mom, Mona (Gilpin) to get her advice.
Between them, Mona and Nicole try their best to get Jillian to see the error of her own ways. However, when Jillian eventually realizes she has taken her husband for granted, it could be too late to save their relationship and have wedded bliss.
As an added benefit, the film has a cute puppy. In fact, when the trailer for the film begins, the title starts as “How to Train Your Puppy” but quickly the word “Puppy” changes to “Husband.”
Ironically, the Hallmark movie was originally to be titled How to Pick Your Second Husband First, which tends to give away part of the plot.
