Hallmark Channel News: ‘Write Before Christmas’ Makes World Premiere

Hallmark Channel’s 10th Anniversary Countdown to Christmas is the biggest and best in the network’s history. ‘Write Before Christmas,’ starring Torrey DeVitto and Chad Michael Murray, makes its world premiere Sunday, November 17, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT.

‘Write Before Christmas’ centers around a recently single Jessica (Torrey DeVitto) who sends Christmas cards to people who have impacted her life — the aunt who raised her, her younger brother in the military, a pop star who was part of the soundtrack of her life, the music teacher who inspired her, and the best friend who always tells the truth.

In a behind-the-scenes sneak peek, Torry gives Hallmarkies insight into her character. “I was so excited to because, I love the violin, but cello, the sound as always been one of my favorite instruments, and I’ve never played it. I was so excited to learn that. When you see the fingerings and all the bowing, and you see me play, that is actually me. There is no hand double. Getting to learn to play the cello makes it so rich, to play this amazing character.”

In addition to Torrey DeVitto and Chad Michael Murray, ‘Write Before Christmas’ cast includes Grant Show (Tom) and Lolita Davidovich (Lila) and a Dexter who goes by Blitzen in the movie. Both Grant and Lolita found him to be an adorable, screen-stealing co-star.

“[Dexter] is about as resilient, and sweet, and adorable, and as funny as you can get,” Lolita described her furry co-star.

Chad Michael Murray (Luke) had this to say about the Hallmark 10th Anniversary Countdown to Christmas round the clock movie fest: “These Christmas films have become a tradition, that means something to everyone. Just like the Christmas music that we listen to. It’s something I’m proud to be a part of.”

Torrey, who you may remember from ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ has starred in a Hallmark Christmas movie before, ‘Best Christmas Party Ever’ with Steve Lund back in 2014. This is Chad Michael Murray’s first Hallmark Channel movie. You may remember the actor from ‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘Riverdale.
