While fans of Hallmark’s Mystery movies were heartbroken by the cancelation of Mystery 101 with the cliffhanger unresolved. Meanwhile, Sleuthers are hanging on the edge of the cliffhanger in the latest Hannah Swensen Mystery. Despite this, mystery fans will be thrilled to receive some actual good news relating to the Curious Caterer Mysteries on Hallmark.
Hallmark actor Andrew Walker on Curious Caterer Mysteries
Andrew Walker stars with Nikki DeLoach in one of Hallmark’s top series, the Curious Caterer Mysteries. Heavy interviewed Walker on Tuesday, where he revealed that there will be two more Curious Caterer Mystery movies. The Three Wise Men and a Baby star confirmed that this will be in addition to the latest movie, Last Suppers. This means that Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is committed to making five movies in the series.
Even better, Walker got the news at Christmas Con on his 44th birthday, saying, “We were together, it was amazing.” Moreover, he revealed how happy he is to return to work with Nikki DeLoach, saying:
Nikki and I are, you know, seven movies deep now and people still want to see us.
Meanwhile, Andrew acknowledged that this was “a nice little birthday gift.”
When will filming start on the Hallmark mystery?
After Hallmark greenlit two more Curious Caterer Movies, it is hard to say when the movies will premiere. What with the WGA Writers’ strike, it is difficult to tie the movie down to a premiere date. In fact, writers haven’t written a word in 45 days. Of course, on top of this, an actors’ strike is also coming.
However, one scriptwriter will likely write at least one script. According to the Hallmark Mysteries & More podcast, John Christian Plummer is set to write the next Curious Caterer script. In fact, the Mystery 101 screenwriter had already penned the first two film scripts. However, he didn’t write Grilling Season, but instead, a new mystery movie dubbed Mystery Island.
On top of this, prior to the WGA strike, Plummer was working on developing a new mystery series with Kristoffer Polaha. While again, there is no further information on the movie series, it certainly is good news for Sleuthers.
While this isn’t confirmed as yet, Walker said that Curious Caterer Mysteries: Last Suppers will likely air in August or September this year.
